Really.....did you see the story about us being in for Ince again for 5 million, just a year after releasing him on a free. I wouldn't trust Ayre to hold my wallet for one minute, and it's practically empty.Originally posted by little dave hedgehog View Posthe's like 6 months into a 5 year deal isn't he? there's no way we'll get ****ed on this. not even us.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

If we sell him it'd feel like we are chucking in the towel and saying to everyone 'we are a middle table club and we are happy with that'
This lad is getting better every week and has such a hunger to play for the team. I might be wrong but I don't see him pushing the issue as it stands.
Would he stay in England anyway? After the abuse he has had from fans of every other club?

Makes me wonder whether BR's comments about not doing a Torres we're because he had knowledge of what was coming by way of City ?
I thought at the time it was just Chelsea game related, probably was tbh, but it's all the more relevant now if City do come in.
Tbh, it's not rocket surgery,
the wealthy Champions league teams will want to buy the best players, Luis is one of those, it's a foregone conclusion imo that someone will come in for him whether this rumour is bull**** or not.

Lets hope it s the wake up call our owners need, buy quality players to support the few we have, or risk losing them through lack of ambition. I'm not gonna be dumb enough to say he wont leave, he will one day, thats the situation football is in right now, money, money and more money. Our last hope is FFP, if it isnt enforced we are a top 12 side at most.

Selling Torres was not lack of ambition IMO. It was too good a deal to turn down at the time and hindsight has proved it to be even better. Torres was visibly on the decline, even if he was still scoring for us so it made sense to cash in. Suarez is hitting his prime though and it would be a massive blow for the club to lose him.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

People seem to forget this. We got 50mil for a wantaway striker and spent it immediately on replacements. If that isn't a statement of ambition I don't know what is.

Tbh that's the least i'd expect. If we can't expect all money from sales of players to go back into the squad, then we are in trouble.Originally posted by Trippendicular View Post

What sort of message would it have sent if they'd kept half the money ? They had no real choice imo as new owners.
That's not meant as a dig at them, just pointing it out.

Sure that was said about Torres too at some point. Even Gerrard nearly succumbed.
I just don't know where you get this optimism about footballers loyalty from.
LFC is just a place of work to them.
If anything he has more affinty to Ajax, and he made a career choice.
My Favourite player too, but i won't lie to myself about any percieved loyalty to lfc over his personal career, i just don't believe it.Last edited by Vermilion; 15-11-12, 10:42 AM.
