Not read it properly but our manager should back our best player rather than hang him out to dry. Having said that if Suarez had admitted to diving he's back to square ****ing 1 after making so much progress with the media, for what it's worth I think he's gone in the summer, even before this was said.

How is he hanging him out to dry exactly? I'd be interested to know.

As I've said I've not read it, I forgot to add I was going off what I was told happened, Rodgers publicly not backing Suarez on a quote that was translated from Spanish.
If I'm wrong fair enough but I haven't had a chance to catch up.
Luis needs to learn that this is England and "the truth will not set you free" and BR needs to stop feeling compelled to respond to any piece of "news".
I don't think everything is rosy at the club but I don't think we're trying to sell Suarez or force him out by condemning what he said in that interview either.
He's playing some unbelievable football, the best he has played for us since he's been here. He's said himself he's enjoying it and likes the manager and his outlook. Over this one thing you conclude Rodgers may want to cash in on him
Players make mistakes and sometimes you can't blindly back them. That's all this is. Nothing more, nothing less. If you want to get all doom and gloom about it, knock yourself out
I didn't think that either, I simply refused to rule it out. Go figure.

The 'confession' made the back pages. I think Brendan is right to come out with this. Its all PR, but he represents the club, and much as we love him, Suarez is but one player. If we have to hang him out to dry for the benefit of the image of the club then so be it. It's over blown, but we shouldn't be seen to support diving, we should be seen condemning it.

I thought this kind of interview had to be authorised by the club? Obviously it could well have been, but based on the content I think that's unlikely.
WTF are we doing we are a PR nightmare this is just the latest example.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
The Stoke thing was the most obvious and badly executed example of a dive I've ever seen. There is no way Rodgers can't have known that was a dive at the time.
If he wanted to uphold the image of the club and reprimand Suarez for it he should have done it in the immediate aftermath of that game.
Then a simple "I spoke to Luis after the game about these things" would have been all he would have needed to say today.
Luis needs in a crash course in things not to say though, maybe Rodgers too.
