Not read it properly but our manager should back our best player rather than hang him out to dry. Having said that if Suarez had admitted to diving he's back to square ****ing 1 after making so much progress with the media, for what it's worth I think he's gone in the summer, even before this was said.Vive la FranceComment

The 'confession' made the back pages. I think Brendan is right to come out with this. Its all PR, but he represents the club, and much as we love him, Suarez is but one player. If we have to hang him out to dry for the benefit of the image of the club then so be it. The Stoke thing was the most obvious and badly executed example of a dive I've ever seen.There is no way Rodgers can't have known that was a dive at the time.
If he wanted to uphold the image of the club and reprimand Suarez for it he should have done it in the immediate aftermath of that game.
Then a simple "I spoke to Luis after the game about these things" would have been all he would have needed to say today.
