The goal he scored yesterday was a typical Messi goal, run towards the goals, one-two off the opposition player and the slide it into the net. Not that I'm trying to compare him to him, but Messi does that quite often.

Guardiola handed £240m war chest at Bayern... and Suarez is top of his list
By ANDY JAMES
PUBLISHED: 13:01, 28 January 2013 | UPDATED: 14:31, 28 January 2013
Pep Guardiola will be given £240million to revamp his Bayern Munich squad next season and his
No 1 target is Liverpool forward Luis Suarez.
The former Barcelona boss will resume management with the German giants after his year’s sabbatical, having refused multiple approaches from owner Roman Abramovich to join European champions Chelsea.
French newspaper L’Equipe reports his two top targets are Suarez, one of the standout performers of the Premier League season so far, and Atletico Madrid’s supersta striker Radamel Falcao.
Suarez is contracted to Anfield until 2018 and would reportedly cost approximately £40m. Falcao would cost closer to £50m.
Meanwhile, manager Brendan Rodgers believes it is about time someone other than captain Steven Gerrard has to lead Liverpool out of trouble.
The England midfielder came off the bench yesterday just before the hour with his side trailing 3-1 at Oldham and although it prompted an improved display it could not stop a shock FA Cup fourth-round exit.
Rodgers rested the 32-year-old, who has played every minute of every league game this season, along with the likes of Jamie Carragher and Stewart Downing but found their replacements wanting.
'I can’t rely on Steven for 70 games. He has been absolutely incredible,' said the Liverpool boss.
'He shouldn’t be expected to come and win games on his own.
'He came on and gave a real impetus to the team and his quality was there to be seen.
'Steven Gerrard and Stewart Downing come on and it is a different game and for 35 minutes we were terrific but it is too late then because we are 3-1 down then.
'It wasn’t good enough.'

he'll go, i'm resigned to losing him - far to good for us and even if he wants to stay, i've a horrible feeling that the way the club is off the field, the thought process will be
we paid £20ish million for him
£40m offer, take the money
look to use £20m to sign a replacement
the rest goes into "other" areas of the club
it's a real worry for us, but i just can't see us being able to turn down £40m
what i am not looking forward to is the months of off field speculation, all parties playin their games and putting spin on it so they don't come out looking the bad guys, he's staying, he's going. he's more trouble than he's worth, we want him to stay cause he is amazing, he is homesick, his wife hasn't settled, he loves liverpool but doesn't feel we match his ambitions, bayern have tapped him up, bayern haven't tapped him up etc etc etc etc - been there, seen it done it and ****ing tired of it.i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Isn't there a rumoured £40m release clause in his contact?Originally posted by PTP View Posthe'll go, i'm resigned to losing him - far to good for us and even if he wants to stay, i've a horrible feeling that the way the club is off the field, the thought process will be

Everytime Suarez scores a great goal - we tick closer to losing him.
I think, and this is sort of fair, that we've got a year to get back in the Champion's league or lose him. So I'm talking by Summer 2014. If not - he'll go and there'll be a huge bidding war.
Thing is, I think the owners know this and therefore would entertain bids for him this summer because "well, we're going to lose him anyway..." and I don't think I could begrudge him that move although I pray that he wants to stay and be responsible for getting us back closer to where we want to be.
Bayern would be a brilliant move for him - Guardiola is a phenomenal coach, he'd be playing in a better team and would be the Messi-like focal point of a new team competing for domestic league titles, cups and European cups.. We can't compete with that.

- i dont begrudge him at all - i'm used to it now - Alonso, Mascherano, Torres, even go back to Owen, McManaman etc and although he stayed you can include gerrard in this. virtually all are top players have left us (or nearly left) in recent years because we haven't been good enough to keep them and they've been involved in long bitter/horrible transfer saga's
so **** it, Suarez will go, if it's not this summer then it'll be no loner than the year after
as i've said, i just can't be arsed with all the ****ing paper talk and rumours and all the ****e and spin that goes with it
we can all say it now - that we wouldn't blame him when he goes,
but just wait, the club will go into a pr spin overdrive to make it look like we did every thing we could to make him stay whilst secretly be rubbing their hands looking at the £40m coming their way - by time Suarez does go he'll be the bad guy and a lot of people will be slagging him off and saying we are better off without him

If he left this summer - I wouldn't slag him off. I couldn't, he's been a fantastic player and he deserves far more praise that he gets from outside Liverpool fans.
He should be getting Balon D'Or nominations, not being the subject of weekly piss-take columns about what a naughty man he is and how he's single-handedly responsible for all wrongs in modern football.
I really do think that he likes Liverpool... maybe even loves Liverpool... and certainly has an afiliation to the fans for the way everyone rallied around him during his "troubled times" so I'd say his departure (when it happens) will be more like Alonso than Torres, ie, a player leaving on good terms to go on and win things rather than a backstabbing Judas cunt who I would willingly **** on.

It'll be galling when he does go, but why would he want to spend the best years of his career playing for a club who are battling it out between 4th-8th when he could be playing regular football for clubs competing for titles?
Shame, but that's where we are right now. I think we're all expecting it to happen. Reckon he'll give us next season and then move on in 2014 if we're showing little or no sign of improvement.
