AC and Juve are decent parallels given their recent travails, you could throw Valencia into the equation as well. They have sold on some excellent players and had huge financial issues, but they still compete. Atletico sold Torres and now have Falcao.

Juve managed to somehow survive relegation and the loss of Zambrotta and Cannavaro.

The point is, if Liverpool decide to sell Suarez, the club isn't going to implode, they just need to go out and recruit wisely.

We had Torres playing for us back then. One of the biggest names in football. We could also offer our sponsors CL football back then. We also had a Gerrard that was a world class local player.
