Kevin Philips at Palace is doing ok and a certain cultivated striker at Villa is fed up sitting on the bench.

Madrid are going after Gareth Bale for big bucks, Barcelona are signing Neymar and Bayern are signing Gotze and Lewandowski

Suarez will stay put because no other team outside of England are big enough and can temp us or him

That's definitely giving me hope. Bale is clearly pushing for the move there now.

I think that's the big positive here, there's so few realistic suitors for him. You've got Barca (just bought Neymar), Real (hopefully buying Bale), Bayern (so far no interest), and Juventus (seemingly only lukewarm interest). If none of those clubs make a move for him I'd be pretty sure he's going to stay.

Bayern are pretty nailed on for Lewandowski. Someone tweeted earlier that Suarez not much of an option for Juve at the moment. Down the list. Think they're after Jovetic

Surely it will be no problem to Madrid buying both Bale and Suarez if that's what they want? Do people think they can't afford both or can't fit in both?

I suspect fewer clubs want Suarez than we think. He comes with baggage as we have seen, 3 times in his career he has ****ed things up, the BIG teams have a huge choice of top strikers to choose from so why go for one that is guaranteed to drag you down at some time.

Few people outside of our club have a good word to say about him, he is intensely disliked generally.

His pelanty save in the WC, his 2 biting incidents and the racist issue plus his antics on the field do not a good reputation make.

He will have to stay because nobody will risk big money on signing him. He will only leave on the cheap if the club want rid.

Clubs don't give a **** about baggage. When the first official bid is submitted I think you are going to see a host of clubs coming in for him. Clubs care about winning not PR.

                    Utd/City/ Chavs/ Real/ Munich = winning model. Baggage/PR Model = Arsenal

I think in the PR case Suarez is unique. No club is going to want to have problems with their sponsors and he is one of the few players who may have issues for certain brands.

PSG and Monaco could easily afford him and more than double his wages.

Real had a very bad season and the President won't have any other option than to buy a few new world class players. Bale won't be enough.

I can see them spend more than £200m on new players. They will sell a few but they will spend more than £100m net IMO.

I only see him at Real tbh. He is all about the winning and not sure PSG. Monaco or these stupidly rich Russian clubs would be of interest to him

if suarez really wanted to stay he would come out and publicly state he isnt interested in a move and he will be staying. after our support of him with his little 'issues' it would be the least we should expect...

i reckon his agent is trying to see who will bite [ouch] so suarez is sitting quietly in the background to see how things go.

im ****ed off with this. the owners/ayre should get him to go on tv and make a statement of commitment to LFC and lets move on.

if he isnt willing to do this then by all means get him sold, but start the bidding at 60m.

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

If all the speculation is to be believed, then all I have to say is this:

It might be unrealistic and therefore moot, but I just wish that Suarez would give us another season so we know our chances of pushing on are high. Obviously, there are no guarantees in football (or anything in life), and him staying doesn't mean we'll do any better next season. The likelihood, however, is quite high, as opposed to the almost certain stagnation we will encounter if he leaves. I understand that he is in the prime of his career and that it would be much more cushy and nice living in Spain, competing for top honours with a team like Real Madrid, but isn't there just as much honour in helping a former great back to its best? Honestly, I ask myself that sometimes: if all of these footballers were retired and I were reading about their careers, I would respect the ones who stayed with an "average" team in spite of their world-class talent and helped it go on to achieve bigger and better things more than the ones who ****ed off to "better" teams and perhaps achieved success, but were less important to their team in the process.

Yes, I'm aware, there are holes in this logic. It just doesn't hold up, given the way football works and how players/agents/etc think. And obviously I have a deep personal bias, but I never lived during Liverpool's greatest years and I still think it's one of the biggest clubs on the planet. If Real Madrid comes in and tables a bid, offers Suarez higher wages and a starting berth in a title-challenging, Champions League-competing team, then for all intents and purposes, he will go. But there is so much more than material value for him in staying at Liverpool. I can't be objective, but I think I would think this regardless of my sporting loyalties (unless I were a Madrid fan... a Madridista *gag*), if I were him and I were lying on my death bed, I would be a lot more content with having stayed at Liverpool in the 2013/14 season and helping them qualify for the Champions League again than going to a money-flushed, cuntish Spanish team before I had the chance.

Again there is obviously nothing guaranteeing that we would qualify for the Champions League even if he stayed sooo this argument is probably incoherent but whatever! I just wanted to get it off my chest.
