I was thinking maybe it would be a player plus cash rumour, but I don't think they have any players that I'd really want us to take.

Nah we won't. Well sell for at least £40m to £45m. Madrid will leave it late and try and get him cheap, especially as it looks like they aren't getting BaleOriginally posted by Norbs View PostWe bought him cheap because of his reputation, we will have to swallow the fact that he's done nothing to repair this image since being at Liverpool. He was a £35m player that came for £22m. He's now a £50m player but I think we'll have to settle for a fair bit less if we want to sell
I don't think Suarez was a £35m player when we got him. He was playing well in the Dutch League but doubt anyone there is worth £35m . He's got about 3 years on his contract so we don't need to sell cheap as we aren't desperate sellers.

All clubs will have seen we can buy who we need without money from Suarez. They can try their last minute games on us this summer and see where it gets them. The absolute worst case scenario is we keep Suarez and he refuses to play. Not much of a stance when one keeps getting banned AND its world cup year. Delicious.
One tit for another.

I'd take Coentrao in a heartbeat plus cash.... wouldn't go near Callejon,Kaka or Di Maria. Although i doubt very much he would want to be playing for club not in champs league & not challenging for the league.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI was thinking maybe it would be a player plus cash rumour, but I don't think they have any players that I'd really want us to take.

I agree with your valuation but £40m is a discount on his market value though mate, that's what I'm getting atOriginally posted by Sarb View PostNah we won't. Well sell for at least £40m to £45m. Good job AS are usually full of ****
Chelsea on the verge of signing Luis Suárez for 40 million euros
AS understands that the controversial Uruguayan forward is close to agreeing to a move to the Blues, with José Mourinho pipping former club Real Madrid to his signature.
Chelsea on the verge of signing Luis Suárez for 40 million euros Ampliar Suárez bit Chelsea defender Ivanovic in the arm last April but could be his team-mate next season.
Luis Suárez is close to committing to signing for Chelsea for 40 milion euros, AS has learned.
The Uruguayan striker, whose situation has been monitored by many of the top clubs in Europe, was one of José Mourinho's priorities and the Chelsea boss, who appears to have lost out to Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Edinson Cavani, has made a final assault for the controversial Liverpool forward.
In doing so, the Portuguese would get revenge on former club Real Madrid, who were among the favourites to capture the striker, who has expressed his desire to leave the Premier League owing to the treatment he has received from the media.
Suárez, whose agent is Pere Guardiola, brother of the Bayern Munich coach, will earn 5.5 million euros per year at Stamford Bridge.
His arrival, however, does not mean that Fernando Torres will have to leave the Blues, and the Spaniard is expected to remain in West London next season.
Back in April Suárez shocked football fans around the world by biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, but the pair made their peace and could soon be team-mates.Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
