Wait, what? He has both of those things at Liverpool.

The Barrett piece, if true, I believe is an attempt by the club to flush out Madrid's interest. We cannot afford a late sale, so need to expedite any possible sale. The Arsenal sale makes no sense from any angle. From the player's view, there is the affection he has for the Liverpool fans and dislike of the media and his partner apparently dislikes British life. From the club's point of view, why would they alienate the fans by selling a fan favourite to a rival club, especially the club most vulnerable for our main aim this season?

The club should never sell him to a PL rival. Maybe he want to join them but that really doesn't matter.

If the club sell him to a PL rival then FSG should get at least as much **** thrown at them as Suarez would get.

We definitely shouldn't sell him to arsenal. Chelsea would be better as they're basically guaranteed to finish above us but we need to be looking to finish higher than arsenal and spurs this season.

I hope we don't sell him to another Prem club. I now don't really care if he stays or goes. I don't love players individually anymore SG aside. The team is what I care about, if he stays good, if he goes, good luck. As long as we replace with quality, regardless of fee, that's all that matters to me.

Selling your best player to the team most likely fall out of the CL therefore our closest rival for top 4 would be beyond stupid.

I don't think he's *that* good, certainly not the uber-mobile type of forward we'd look to replace Suarez with.

The real shock will be when people realise that Arsenal won't ever bid what we want for him.

He wants out but only to a big foreign club. He will not move to a premiership club. I guarantee it. Stop believing twisted quotes and the press who want to milk it.

How do you come to that conclusion?

I don't think he will go to Arsenal, but history suggests it would be naïve to 'guarantee' it. Anything is possible, though it seems clear to me that his future lies away from these shores.

Exactly my thinking, that's an overly optimistic assessment of quite a generic statement from Suarez. He said that he's reporting back to pre-season training but that could all change with one phonecall.

Wake up and smell the coffee. He wants to go and it's looking more and more like he doesn't care where that is. I don't personally think he WILL go to Arsenal but it certainly sounds like he's open to it even though they won't meet our asking price.

If he was staying it would have been very easy just to say it! He is waiting for an offer that we accept and then he will go, simple as that. I just hope we do not sell him to another PL club.

People are going to interpret what he said differently. He never linked being flattered by interest from Arsenal to staying at Liverpool. As far as I'm aware, in none of his comments in the last couple of weeks has he even mentioned staying at Liverpool, regardless of interpretation or not.

I think he's lost sight of the reason he wants to leave. He came out with the 'stick from british press' line. Then there was still no bid from Real Madrid. All of a sudden, flurry of bets on Arsenal (from Barcelona according to Graham Hunter) then within days his agent is here and then Suarez is mentioning them in a radio interview.

The Torres thing taught me that players will go anywhere it suits them, and Suarez is the same. If Madrid do not come in for him, he'll be pushing for a move to an interested Prem club I'm sure

To be honest, if a Prem club came in and offered us £50m+ for him I would sell him. I don't buy this 'He is going to give 110% if he stays here'. I don't think he will. The club need to try and get the highest fee they can. If it's from a Premiership team, so be it. Madrid aren't going to bid until the last week of the window due to his 6 game ban remaining
