The first 2 played in a team where they were winning everything year in year out so no reason to move and as for Carra and Stevie they are local lads who have the club at heart. Hell even Gerrard flirted with Chelsea when he thought that he couldn't win anything with us.Originally posted by Nigey View PostRyan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and probably a few more.
Suarez is a footballer in 2013 he will be looking at nothing else but his career and what is best for him, his family and those around him.

We'll see next week.
Bar winning trophies, I don't think Suarez has too much to complain (bar the dreadful way the press treats him obv). He's probably very handsomely paid and probably in the top bracket of players of his level. There's nothing wrong to show ambition but I think we have started showing some as well, first with the way we've started playing last season and secondly with the type of players we've been linked to this season. It does show we're moving forward. Are we winning?

Arsenal confident of Luis Suarez transfer after Arsene Wenger is given green light for £40m bid
18 Jul 2013 22:30 By John Cross
Liverpool have already turned down one approach from the Gunners, but the north London side are willing to back Wenger's pursuit of the Uruguayan
Arsene Wenger has been given the go-ahead to spend £40million on Luis Suarez, writes John Cross in Nagoya .
And Arsenal are confident that Suarez will quit Liverpool for a sensational move to the Emirates.
Gunners boss Wenger also has Gonzalo Higuain and Wayne Rooney on his radar, but Suarez is his No1 choice.
Liverpool insist that Suarez is not for sale and have already knocked back one approach for Arsenal after claiming their valuation of a £35m package was not enough.
Suarez has a £40m clause in his contract which his advisers believe entitles him to leave if any club matches the price.
But Liverpool are adamant they only have to inform Suarez - and are not obliged to sell. Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers said he expects the Uruguay striker to stay “unless something drastic happens.”
The Arsenal board have given Wenger a £70m transfer war chest and made it clear that if he wants to spend the majority on Suarez, they will back his judgement.
Wenger also wants to strengthen in other areas – with Everton’s Marouane Fellaini among his midfield targets – but Suarez would eat up much of his budget.
Suarez was named in Liverpool’s 27-man squad for their pre-season tour of Indonesia, Australia and Thailand, although he is one of three players joining the party “later on in the tour” following Confederations Cup duty. Rodgers, speaking in Jakarta, said: “Luis Suarez is a wonderful player and he is still very much a Liverpool player.
“He is a very important member of this squad and I am looking forward to working with him again this season.
“There has been lots of speculation about Luis moving to another club but, as I said, he is very much a Liverpool player.
“We had an offer that was nowhere near what we value him at. He’s one of the top strikers in the world.
“Of course he wants to work and play at the top level. But unless something drastic happens, he will be staying here.
“He has got three years left on his contract. We are looking forward to him helping us get into the Champions League spots.”
Suarez scored 30 times last season, but will miss six games at the start of the new campaign – the remains of a 10-match ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

We may qualify for the champions league but we will still be way off winning it or the league.
The big difference is, once in the CL when we go after the likes of Micky Ryan we'll have a greater chance of getting them.

very glad he's said all that. His belief in the club's direction is really great.

Just words. I am sure like everyone he (Suarez) will appreciate actions.
If we were to sign a recognised quality player or two, he might have more confidence. As it is I think we are all disappointed by the lack of transfer activity, and I am sure the manager will have wanted everything sorted by the time we went on tour. Thus far we have failed to sign a single player to strengthen the 1st eleven, and have blown a wad of cash on a keeper we probably did not need.
Perhaps we are early days, but to me, our transfer activity so far does not scream out ambition. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

I dunno. We signed an experienced defender who could probably feature in our first eleven pretty consistently, we signed one of the league's most promising keepers as ours looks to possibly be on the way out, and Aspas is probably going to be a regular name on the team sheet. The only through-and-through prospect is Luis Alberto. We have already signed four players. Not really sure we have much to complain about to be honest.Originally posted by Charly View PostJust words. I am sure like everyone he (Suarez) will appreciate actions.

That is debateable (in terms of actually winning a trophy). They've had some top class players and failed to win a single trophy in over 8 years. It's now a mental thing with them. On paper they may have a good team, but with them, it isn't going to guarantee them any sort of trophy. Plus in big games, Wenger's tactics are ****eOriginally posted by Chazza View PostThey are closer than we are.Last edited by Sarb; 19-07-13, 07:24 AM.
