What is with the 'conspiracy' tone around FSG. Their true intentions? Obviously to see the club climb the ladder and win trophies. What sort of businessmen don't like to see their organisation grow in value?Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostYeah we can and FSG's true intensions will be there for all to see.
I highly doubt they will call a press conference and 'come clean' admitting that they had duped us fans all along and that actually their true intentions were to run LFC into the championship right from the start.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

After the last lot of owners i take everything FSG say with a massive pinch of salt. I f the sell Suarez to the one team we have the best chance to knock out the top 4 then to me it will prove they are only interested in the bottom line rather that winning trophies.Originally posted by lil_luis_07 View PostWhat is with the 'conspiracy' tone around FSG. Personally Kenneth bud, i think that this arsenal BS is exactly that mate. Why on earth would we contiplate on selling our star player to a top four club when that's exactly where were aiming for next yearOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostOr possibly that we screwed up with the contract clause.
I don't see us selling to arsenal if we can avoid it though.
If he does want to go without showing loyalty to everyone at our club (including us fans), then sell him to a foreign club at least and insist we start talking figures of 48mill+ or if that dosen't happen then, bloody well insist he stays another year and get the best price for him then
The club has been stung with transfers incoming and outgoings way way to often over the years gone bye so it's time we put our foot down and make a stance and say to every other club out there that, we are Liverpool Football Club and we will not be **** upon by anyone, anywhere, anymore.

Obviously the last cowboys have made us wary of new owners - but it's not like they've been here for a couple of months.Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostAfter the last lot of owners i take everything FSG say with a massive pinch of salt. This 'true intentions' line gets banded about too much for me, every time a deal is rumoured it'll show us their intentions. Personally I'm pretty happy with how they've run the club and don't see a Suarez deal as overly changing that view.

Considering that the money that we could gain getting into CL could be more than we get for Suarez, then we would be absolutely bonkers to sell to Arsenal.
Everyone keeps saying "£50m or don't sell", but lets be honest he's not worth that. If he conducted himself well and didn't bring the baggage then £50m would be fair, but £40m is what he'll be worth at most.
For that price, I don't think he'll sell to a fellow PL club and only a select few clubs out there could pay over £40m for him because the fee would be pocket change for them.

It's not just the fee either, if he moves, his agent will expect parity with other top players in the world.
The arsenal thing is weird, BR came out and stated Suarez would be staying barring anything 'drastic' happening, he could have also added, 'and if the drastic does happen, we wont be selling to a rival!'
But, as much as it pains me to see Arsenal now attempting to lure our best player away, it probably suits our purpose if he is to leave, by flushing out other seriously interested clubs.
Still wish Brenadan had said he wont be sold to a direct rival though, regardless.
The thought of Arsenal stealing a Suarez size march on us is so disheartening!

I'd take that. As much as I love the guy, I can still see him doing something equally dumb this season, if not worse - plus refs and the FA will be keeping him on an even tighter leash. £20m + Higuain and we get a decent replacement, he doesn't go to a rival and we have cash to reinforce in other priority areas.Originally posted by Vermilion View Post20mill + Higuain ?

If; as it seems he's determined to go, then yes i'd have that, Madrid have a player keen to join them, and we have one keen to leave us, not much we can realistically do imo, so that would for me; represent some sort of value, and an end to this saga.
Would Higuain come here though ?

We always get burnt by Real Madrid.
I know Higuain is different class to Nunez, but so was Morientes and look how that turned out.
I just don't think that players leaving Real Madrid ever really have the passion anymore to win and succeed, as in their eyes they've "moved down" a level.
On the other hand, if 20 mill and Higuain stops Arsenal taking Suarez off us then fair enough, and that's not being bitter in any way, because at the end of the whole saga we'll be selling them a players who's possibly one of the best attackers in Europe and we'll probably struggle to replace him. Although to be honest I'm not even sure Arsenal are even being serious about the whole thing. How many times have they been in for a top top player for them to make their fickle fans giddy, and then sign a nobody?
There's always the option of keeping him, and personally I think we should just tell Luis to shut up and that he's going nowhere unless a bigger offer comes in from outside the PL. End of. We've not even had a full season out of him yet so maybe he should help us reach CL football, and obviously if we fail drastically again we will allow him to leave.
