If they manage to sell Suarez at the price they are desperately trying to, they'll sign a couple of players, probably Eriksen and one young defender. If they don't manage to sell him, they won't sign anybody else apart from Cissokho on loan.
FSG are predictable
BR doesn't have the money to sign anyone until Suarez makes up his mind, but if he stays same as a 40 mill signing for us. Anyone know what our total net spend is so far? Seems we should have a packet left to get at least another couple of players before any Suarez money might materialise.Last edited by Leyton388; 23-07-13, 07:58 AM.

I must be missing something. I've only heard the player (allegedly) saying that he wants out, and the club saying that he's not for sale. If that's 'desperately trying' to sell him then they need to get Phil Spencer on the phone for some help.Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostIf they manage to sell Suarez at the price they are desperately trying to.
Really? So the whole Mickey Ryan thing was a smokescreen? Because we seemed pretty keen to buy him without selling Suarez first. Right now we have no real idea who our targets are, and how much we plan to spend. If we get to 11pm on 31 August and have done nothing, I'll be joining you in questioning what the hell is going on. Right now it's the 23rd of July and there's an awful lot of time left for us to make moves in the transfer market, so why don't we wait and see what happens rather than spend the next 39 days moaning?Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostIf they don't manage to sell him, they won't sign anybody else apart from Cissokho on loan.
Again, really? If your assessment turns out to be wrong, will you agree to cut them some slack because perhaps they aren't as predictable as you think?Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostFSG are predictable

I totally agree. Utterly predictable. I wish they'd **** off so we could get some proper owners in. Maybe like that Tom Hicks chap or maybe David Moore?Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostIf they manage to sell Suarez at the price they are desperately trying to, they'll sign a couple of players, probably Eriksen and one young defender. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Aside from selling up to those cowboys he did very little wrong when it came to backing Managers. Was a decent owner, just let himself and the club down at the end and I think it is unfair to group him with those 2.Originally posted by Rowan View PostI totally agree. Utterly predictable. Understandable tbf. FSG are going in the right direction, they are just not in a hurry to get there, that is what I need to adjust to and accept. This genuinely is a long term project under them - the team, the stadium, everything just will take that much longer it seems.Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostWe'll see at the end of the transfer window. If I'm proved wrong I'll hold my hands up. That's no bad thing either, I think their plan will work and work well it just wont be the quick short cut that Chelsea and City have taken which whilst works over the short term it doesn't have any long term sustainability.Originally posted by Tee View PostUnderstandable tbf. My only issue is that in that interim period the others like Spurs have caught up and have even edged ahead of us.Originally posted by rcasemore View PostThat's no bad thing either, I think their plan will work and work well it just wont be the quick short cut that Chelsea and City have taken which whilst works over the short term it doesn't have any long term sustainability."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Maybe ny post was a little OTT but what really ****ed me of was what Rodgers said about the Suarez thing "until we get an offer that is his true value there's nothing to consider". That to me sends out a message to the other clubs that he is for sale at the right price when infact ge should have said not for sale at any price.

Spurs went past us in the dying days of H&G and then we wasted a small fortune on "the best of British" we're improving our squad but we probably need 1 or 2 genuine first teamers before the start of the season.
If we get them and don't loose the likes of Suarez we'll be a good position to improve on last season again.

I think we have to be realistic though and accept that if a bid comes in over £50M etc.... we will consider it, you'd be mad not to when that sort of money is involved. It doesn't however mean we have to accept it (unless there is a clause).Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostMaybe ny post was a little OTT but what really ****ed me of was what Rodgers said about the Suarez thing "until we get an offer that is his true value there's nothing to consider". Too much being read into each and every word that is being said.
