Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

therefore all liverpool need to do is to publicly continue to support and mollycoddle Suarez, stick a nice hefty price tag on his head say 70m.

Arsenal who pretend to covet him so much will now before forced to either back off like cowards and leave poor old luis dangling, or pay the ridiculous fee.
If they dont pay the fee then Suarez have to settle down and get on with it.
If he messes around, he gets fined thus reducing costs to liverpool.

I only see a win win for Liverpool now.
I think it's just the matter of the fee now. I think anything above 55m (the amount Cavani was sold for) will Suarez move to Arsenal.

we've got a better keeper/defence than Arsenal and, if Suarez stayed, we would have the better attack. I guess the midfield is debatable.

My worry is with the loss of our star player it may be very difficult to get quality players.
Hopefully Henry fronts the money before Suarez is sold, we get replacements and then release Suarez. Or we may plan to get quality youngsters with world class potential (Luis Albert, Coutinho) and mold them into world class players the carrot being they would see first team football.

Most importantly we shouldn't panic as our last panic buy was Carroll. Well, enough said...

Only then we had day of the transfer window, new and naive owners who didn't want to be seen to be pocketing the money by the fans, and Dalglish stuck in the 80's alongside Comolli stuck in lalaland. I don't really see that the situations are particularly the same. We ****ed up with Andy Carroll, big time, but we're not the first and won't be the last club to lose 15m on a player, he's gone now and there really is no reason to think we'd do something that daft again.

We did well to only lose £15m on him. Great business by the club to get what they did for him.

Utd spunked £7m on Bebe. Not overly disasterous for us

this implies somone had insider knowledge that A) Suarez had already agreed terms and B) was certain that Arsenal would get their man and would be prepared to pay alot of money.

I cant beleive that having seen Suarez's contract Arsenal would assume that it meant that liverpool had to sell.

I cant believe that having been told about a release clause in the contract Arsenal would not check it out beforehand.

Liverpool need to set a deadline now to any club. ie one week and then move on. If Arsenal come back with 60+ million then so be it.

remember suarez outscored bale and I think had quite a few assists too probably playing fewer games. I dont get why he is only being rated at 55m compared to Bales 80m. Its not as if Bale is a pretty boy...
when the stories about the betting came to light we all just laughed and ignored them but it does seem as if they have already been in contact with suarez. This does happen and it happens everywhere.

It does look like something dodgy is going on there and if suarez and arsenal are implicated then it wont look too good it comes out.

Also re bale, its all bull**** real madrid propganda so that they dont lose face because they lost out on signing neymar to barca. Its all rubbish and they wont be signing bale for that money at all.

He doesnt have the same impact as messi or ronaldo so why would he be worth that sort of money ?

Fiorentino Perez "we are ready to break the bank and sign bale for 90m euros which would be the biggest transfer in football history but the coach ancelotti has decided that we want to give our young players a chance. Who am I to argue with the coach"

Its all to appease the fans because why would a club write to another club to inform them we will not be pursuing gareth bale this year and then make it public. Its just a big stunt imo.

What does surprise me a little, is that there isn't one decenting group of Arsenal fans calling for the club to not sign him.

Or if there is, not much attention seems to be drawn to it.

Would have been a nice development to see a few hundered Arsenal fans decend on the Emirates with banners saying..'NOT AT OUR CLUB'....'WE DON'T WANT A NAUGHTY BOY', and such like.

This article and comments on the F365 website suggest that there are more dissenting voices than the mainstream media is leading us to believe.

But let's face it, the hypocrisy shown by the likes of Piers Morgan will be reflected across the majority of the fanbase. They wanted him deported six months ago, but now suddenly he's alright again because he might sign for them.

Not surprising. If we tried to sign a player like Suarez then we would be talking about how fantastic he is. We would be all over the moon.

Suarez will be a key player for them. They will get Wilshere back. He missed almost the whole of last season.

They will sign more top quality players. Suarez will probably be the first and others will follow because one of the best players in the world found their project interesting enough.

They now have the money and it looks like they will spend spend spend to challenge for the title. We will challenge the top four if we sign two or three excellent players. Arsenal will challenge for the title if they do it.
