Bras, I think you're probably the least judgmental poster on this site.

    Not really.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Although I'm not sure how my tendencies on being judgmental or not are related to the point I made, which is that for purely professional reasons, some players may come out and ask him to stay but may not agree or be happy with what he has done or how he has acted

If Rodgers want him to stay then that is what counts. Nothing else really.

I'm more worried about the reason(s) to why he want to leave. The real reasons. I don't think that he would even think about leaving if we short term aimed to finish in the top four.

As i see it. If we sign one or two top class players this week then he will stay. That will show ambition to finish in the top four this season. If we don't. Then he will put in a transfer request.

You honestly think the club is not aiming for Top 4? Absolutely everything the club is doing is with a view to getting back to the Champions League.

First, I fully believe that Suarez wants to leave. However, I also fully believe that John Cross particularly is pushing a very specific agenda in his articles and basically claiming inside information from one camp when his info is in fact from another. That is simply a balance of probabilities argument, this guy was running stories about the innermost thoughts of the Suarez camp while physically being on pre-season tour with Arsenal in Osaka or wherever it was.

Now perhaps he was having stuff leaked to him by Suarez agent, though physically and practically that would seem an odd choice. Much much more likely that, seeing as he is basically Arsenals #1 trusted mouthpiece in the media (look up his history to confirm that, the guy has been that for about 15 years), Arsenal "sources" are reporting to him what their understanding of the Suarez situation is, and he is then running those. They may be (mostly) correct, at least as far as they understand the situation as doubtless Arsenal are in touch with Suarez agents etc, or they may just be how Arsenal want to have the situation presented.

This is not conspiracy theory-ish, nor is it unwilling to listen to news we don't want to hear. It is, imo anyway, not much different from having a journalist say, embedded with the US army but reporting on what the Taliban are planning. They do have an insight, but that insight, whether naturally or deliberately, is seriously open to bias due to the very one-directional perspective they have. And in this case, that bias is almost certainly intentional which makes it twice as dubious.

Aye, he’s a nut-case on the pitch and will do anything to win. We knew this before we signed him.

Most reports from teammates and even journalists seem to suggest he’s one of the nicest people you can meet off the pitch and his biggest crime to some is that he wants to leave the club, something not uncommon in football.

So whilst I might not agree or excuse some of his behaviour on the pitch, the reality is that the one thing that really matters and the main reason he is a ‘cunt’ is because he wants to leave the club, and the abuse from some fans and their determination to paint him in the worst possible light at every opportunity makes them more of a cunt IMO, than a player wanting to leave the club.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

A grown adult biting someone is a very strange act though Arn. You can look at what has the greater propensity to inflict damage, but biting a person is not really a normal thing to do if you're not a baby/toddler

I have probably done something as rash as that on the football pitch. Everyone gets a rush of blood.

But I have never bitten someone. On or off the pitch. Its weird. I dont really know anyone whos first reaction is to bite, other than as Sarb mentioned a toddler.

Why are you making this comparison though?

He wasn't our captain when he did it. And he wasn't 26. He was a kid and he learned.

No, a bite is absolutely worse than that.

In football you are supposed to tackle people to win the ball. Players, naturally, mistime or go over the top in their aggression in such tackles from time to time, and rightly get yellow/red carded if they do.

No form of a bite is acceptable in football, or indeed in any sport, you do not nip someone slightly with your teeth to win the ball. That is not to say that banning Suarez for 10 games was not OTT, as it was, but to deny that Suarez was a dick for biting someone, and doubly a dick for having done it twice in his career, is just ridiculous and shouldn't be attempted imo.

The other thing is Gerrard didn't go over the top like that in a calculated attempt to force through a transfer which is what a certain someone suggested within, as I recall, a few days of the incident.

That tackle by Gerrard isn't exactly normal either. It is just stupid and idiotic. He isn't even trying to win the ball.

Biting someone should be punished with a four or five game ban. A tackle like the one Gerrard did many many years ago is much worse and should be punished with at least a ten game ban.

If you spit on someone should you then be punished with a ten game ban because that don't happen that often?

Biting should be stamped out but two footed tackles is something much much worse and that is really something that must be stamped out.
