I don't want to condone this behaviour but the reaction to a bite is interesting. For example. Someone deliberately tries to do someone with a bad tackle, potentially ending their career and effects the match itself in real time. Gets a red card and 3 game ban and nothing more is said. But Suarez bites someone, its not going to cause any real hurt or effect the game much but the reaction is hysterical. People want him banned for life. Discuss.

None of the videos or photos posted on here are conclusive proof either way. The Italian smacks Suarez in the gob after the headbutt which explains why he's holding his teeth. Like others have said it won't have any impact on his club football and I don't really care. If it's a bite it is crazy, but Luis never fails to surprise one way or another. He's the most exciting footballer in the world, I love watching him play.

The club has been around since 1892, Suarez is a very small part of things.
I have no sympathy for him being the target of the media now, he absolutely brings it upon himself.

It's how I see it. But there is a real taboo to biting- it's seen as savage & animalistic.
          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

****ing hell lads not this bull**** about leg breakers being worse!

It's not a pub topic with your mates after several rounds of tequilas, ah trev, would you rather lose a leg to a shark or an arm to a lion after being shat on by lisa riley.

Biting amongst adults is not something that is commonly seen as acceptable behaviour in a civilised world. Its a disgusting act. Spitting at someone is also unacceptable behaviour. This guy has a huge responsibility to act in an appropriate manner especially with the eyes of the world on him. He's contracted to us and his value will be less due to his actions.

I can understand some people wanting him to stay, but condoning his behaviour is ridiculous.

Seems conflicting reports, some saying as you are that they can only issue international ban whilst others saying they can issue blanket worldwide bans

It's just mental. Abnormal and beyond comprehension. For me it's the nature of the response. I find biting to be a far more bizarre reaction than ****ting someone. I've not felt the need to bite anyone in any moment of confrontation in my adult life so struggle to comprehend how it's Suarez's go-to response. And he's (potentially) bitten three players in separate matches now. ****ing inexcusable really.

And I'd chuck the book at horror tackles too but I suppose it's harder to prove intent. Not so with biting
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

He assaulted a player, it happens alot on the pitch. The method of assault is all that's different and the outcome of it is far less than some of the other assaults.

He'll have the book thrown at him but a total football ban would be ridiculous.

Luis Suarez's explanation: "These situations happen. I had contact with his shoulder, nothing more, things like that happen all the time."

The outrage is ridiculous. He should get the same ban a headbutt would get and nothing more.
People have died building the stadia the games are being played in without the bat of an eyelid

The moral outrage is hysterical, you cant condone what hes done he is a ****ing loon but the reaction to it will be blown out of all proportion

It's just red mist and heat of the moment stuff. He is so involved in everything that he probably just reacts instinctively when provoked. It's inexcusable simply because he'll do it again. All in all, it makes him the genius that he is, footballing wise.
