Isn't this infringing on labour laws of some sort?

What Suarez did is very daft but the hysteria is hysterical. Get a grip, English press.

However this one has had me laughing most of the time. He's become a parody. A goalscoring, biting, maniac, parody.

No human being was hurt during the making of this parody.

Has a player ever received a punishment that has seen them banned from club football, for an incident that has taken place on international duty? I know that FIFA are in charge of world football but it seems unprecedented as far as I can recall.

As people have said surely this will make clubs think about the consequences of releasing players for international duty.

The problem for us is that if we are to consider taking action about this ban it will look bad on us as we appear to be condoning the biting, but the implications of this ban spread much wider than just us or Suarez, this sets an uncomfortable precedent.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Didi Hamaan - 'He's done at Liverpool....I know how important it is to the owners that players conduct themselves well etc'

Well boys....one of ye is wrong.

The only way I would want him out of the club is if he happened to bite my mother somehow. He's alright by me until that happens.

I think it's somewhere between the two. He's done at Liverpool but we'll be keeping hold of him... as an asset, and sell when the time's right. Now his stock is just too low.

He'll come back from his ban bang the goals in and next year we'll get rid. Right now if we were offered £80m plus sanchez I'd take it and go out and buy Pogba.

If Jean Marc Bosman can take on the football authorities then Liverpool Football Club can. As long as we do so while making it publically very clear that we in no way condone his behaviour and shout from the rooftops that after all the hard work the club put in its unjust that we end up being punished more than the international team he was representing.

9 match ban for Uruguay = very lenient
Minimum of 9 Premier league games, groups stages of CL, and any league cup games = Total stitch up for LFC!!!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure anybody would mate, before this happened too! That's valuing him at over £100m surely?

                      Stupid ****ing vampire *******face Suarez
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Right now I'd probably take £20m and Sanchez.

                        ****ing FIFA (and ****ing Suarez).

I think £60m plus Sanchez would be a real decision to make.

I'd love him to stay I really would, and I'd still be happy if he did. But I really wouldn't blame the club for taking anything like that, we take under £60m we're being mugged off.

The FIFA punishment is well over the top, and it's set a dangerous precedent for anyone that does something a bit naughty at international level ie Sahko.

No way is he going to be worth his real value now, ie the value he would have had after his amazng season and if he hadn't gone mental again.

The club should go all out for Sanchez or James Rodriguez now - he's replaceable, maybe not directly, but its what they should be doing now. He's had so many chances - its only a countdown until his next controversy, and I don't think the club can rely on him not to act out under pressure again.

I doubt Liverpool would get anywhere near his post league season value.

He's a total bellend and has now lost his chance of being involved in the tournament he craved. Dick of the highest order.

As for his value, football is quite fickle but I'd be surprised if anyone offered more than £40m

If he can't be trusted to manage himself, why should anyone else take the rap for it?

I'm just really pissed off that this has affected us. The punishment is ground breaking in that regard, and completely without merit imo.
I agree with this - why should we be penalised for something that we had absolutely no control over? In fact the opposite is true in that we have done our very best to put him in a mind frame where hopefully this wouldn't have occurred.

                                And we get stung.
