Definitely the best player I've seen play for us. But it's time to move him on now.

Yet I badly want him to stay

In all seriousness though it's clearly time to say goodbye. Barcelona always get their man in the end, and they will here.
Would be nice to **** them off, a win for the little guy for a change
Without wanting to be melodramatic (I'm going to fail aren't I?) we can kiss a title challenge bye bye this season now. Without him we have no chance of that. Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.

The 'apology' is so calculated it's not even funny. The day after Barca's advisors say they wont pursue him unless he issues one.Originally posted by kev776 View PostSomebody should just ask the rat if he is staying or going.
He wants to leave but that is only going to happen when Barca pay the release clause or include players that add up to the sum of the release clause.

The only semi concrete comment I have seen came from his Father in law about going and playing for Barca, this was probably so he will see more of his daughter and grand children and was wishful thinking.
Has anybody else seen anything remotely true, anything other than pure guesswork by bored Journos? Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.

**** that, we gave him everything he asked for, he owes us 1 more. He's a cunt.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostHe stayed for another season and we nearly won the league. I don't begrudge him his dream move, he's been great for us (apart from the hassle, but it made things interesting!).
But I think he'll stay anyways, Barca wont pay full price.

You may be bang on the nail and it is as obvious as the nose on our faces, it could be as cynical as it looks with the apology etc, but it could also be the thing that makes FSG dig the heels in, he signed a new contract last summer and will ****ing honour it etc etc.Originally posted by spider-neil View PostThe 'apology' is so calculated it's not even funny. I disagree, the cards are all in our hands. We decide his future and we will not be bullied.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostIt's all in barca's hands. If they want him and are prepared to pay enough then he'll go. I don't think any of us can second guess their intentions.

He clearly didn't want to apologise, but we probably told him to, barca probably told him too and its also the best way to reduce his ban.
He's done what everyone wanted. Let's just move on. All the name calling is a bit ridiculous. Did anyone only really expect him not to hawk himself around Europe's top clubs this summer? It was as inevitable as the sun rising every day.

You're right, apart from one pretty major ingredient in this saga. Time.Originally posted by captainfog View PostI disagree, the cards are all in our hands. We decide his future and we will not be bullied.
Say Barca flog Sanchez to someone else and drag the Suarez transfer out until deadline day, getting replacements in will be almost impossible. Until they meet the valuation, this saga will not end. It could drag into the next window even.
If he's going, get shot as soon as possible so that the club can move on and plan for next season rather than having this cloud overshadowing everything.Oh I don't know.

Out of our hands if the release clause is meet and unlike last season I think there will be no ambiguity in the contract this time.Originally posted by kev776 View PostYou may be bang on the nail and it is as obvious as the nose on our faces, it could be as cynical as it looks with the apology etc, but it could also be the thing that makes FSG dig the heels in, he signed a new contract last summer and will ****ing honour it etc etc.
Big loss but we have to ensure we spend wisely and don't bring in a sea of players like Spurs.
