I hope not. Ditching certain elements to the possession football whilst still keeping a decent passing flowing attacking game was one of Brendan's best moves so far. Showed him willing to evolve as a manager.
Going back in that direction would be a step backwards IMO.
Will be interesting to see what director Rodgers takes the team in without Suarez. Particularly towards the latter end of last season when we were playing the diamond with Suarez-Sturridge up front, you never really felt like they played as a true partnership. They had their moments of course, but I think it was their movement that caused the most problems rather than their dazzling direct interplay with the ball. Whoever we get won't be as good as Suarez obviously, but if he can match his movement (which clearly is partly down to the coaching staff's instructions) then we should be ok. It's not like we were a one man team, that's the encouraging thing. Suarez was the cherry on top of the icing - we just need a new cherry
If we can replace half his goals and assist but drastically reduce the amount we concede I think we'll be just fine.
What concerns me is that it's his danger to the opposition we need to replace. He put teams on the back foot even if he's not directly involved in the play.

Liverpool ask 88M for Luis Suarez. They don't accept Alexis as part of the deal as they want to build new team around English players.
Oh christ didn't we learn from Adam, Downing and Carroll?
