If the season had started when Kenny took over...

Its been said before, and I think we're well aware of the stats and the form. But jesus christ, could Christian ****ing Purslow have got things much more wrong during his time in charge? Quite clearly Kenny has been a massive influence - the King back where he should have been 3 months after he left in 1991 - just look at this table and imagine how we would have been dreaming if this had been January rather than May. Granted the pressure has been off somewhat, as in we couldn't sink any lower and whatever happened post Hicks and Gillett / Hodgson was going to be an improvement - but look what he's done!

He's going to feel a bit more pressure next season, there will be expectation, and much of that lies in what kind of signings we bring in over the summer - but for the first time in 2 years, I'm looking forward to the new season. I feel invigorated and optimistic, just imagine how players like Gerrard, Carragher, Kuyt and Lucas feel!

Dalglish is a legend, and I am slightly drunk.

A toast to Kenny and next season!!!!

We can only imagine what would have happen but I will say that Craig H and Arn we were among the first ones to suggest replacing Hodge with Kenny and they got lot of grief over it for saying it "so early"..

That was exactly the reason why I thought it was important to mention it

              Nah, i exaggerate, clearly.

We've agreed 4 (four) times in the history of EST.

Clearly you and Arn have much more in common than you want to admit

You know what? I'm going to stick my neck out and say it was a good thing Kenny wasn't in charge at the start of the season. With Hicks and Gilette still in charge, our dirty laundry being washed in public, unsettled dressing room, no money to spend, no Steve Clarke, Commolli etc.... he'd have done better at turning it around than Bodge, of course, but would things have come together quite the way they seem to have now? I'm not sure. We had to put up with things getting as bad as they could realistically get, but Kenny was able to come in with almost 100% fan support, pressure off, and its all gone pretty much as well as it could have since.

Momentum is so important in football and Kenny's been able to build up a **** load of it with the way he started; I'm not utterly convinced he would have been able to build that up in quite the same way with things as they were at the club in August.

As for whether he should have replaced Hodgson earlier, well maybe by a few weeks but I do think expecting or wanting new owners to act before getting a grip on the situation, when a lot of the advice they may have been hearing was of the Hodgson = LMA darling type, always was a little unrealistic.

He should've been sacked straight after the derby game, when he stood smiling with Gollum at the final whistle.

No ****ing about - straight out the door, with a boot up his arse as he left.

                      Simple as that.

But any fair minded fan would admit we'd been the better side in that game...

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
