an anything- even if it went pear-shaped tomorrow (and it won't), he's given us our club back. And given us faith again. I honestly don't think anyone else could have done that- healed the hurt, despair and divisions like he has.

Respect goes a long, long way, and im talking real respect, not just a fleeting acknowledgment to a few past achievements. Ferguson has it in spades, he's earned it over the years and with his knighthood, it's one of the reasons the man with a midfield of Fletcher, Park, Carrick and Giggs can be on the cusp of a League and Euro Cup double. He's old school and he's one of a kind, he inspires confidence from the most talented to the most basic player. Something i always realised, he was a man who transitioned from the old days into the new modern game in a league full of managers who just don't have it.

But not anymore.

People said Dalglish would be a flash in the pan, they said he would not be able to handle the modern game, he's been away too long they said. For those that remember his management in the eighties, seeing him currently, nothing has changed. His demeanour, wit and style hasn't changed, put him in the grey adidas coat and he could be the Dalglish from 1987.

I'm not jumping the gun here when i say that Kenny is going to be the next Ferguson of this league, given time and backing, but with the grace and respect a great manager commands, unlike the surly Ferguson, who has become so used to getting his own way, that a bad day is met with tantrums and whinging. he's reinvigorated, he's as enthusiastic as he's ever been and more importantly he knows us. The media love him and respect him, he respects them, but step out of line and he'll be quick to point it out. The players love him, the fans love him. Could you argue with Dalglish? What grounds would you have to argue with one of the nicest, but greatest players and managers to ever grace the game? And in the modern game it's key, just ask Mancini and Ancelotti.

His man management is without question. He's turned Spearing into a player. He's turned boys into men in the shape of Flanagan and Robinson and Kelly. He's made Maxi Rodriguez a player we know he can be. Kuyt is in the form of his life. And along with Steve Clarke (another old head) he's solidified the defence.

And thats what we've missed. Im not going to talk about Rafa at length, he did the best he could in difficult circumstances at times and has done so much for the city and club, he had a different approach to Kenny, but im so happy to see the team return to its roots. Last night was like watching a game from the mid to late eighties. Relentless attacking, not stopping after a goal or two, trying to kill off the opposition. Its whats served United for so long recently and what served us so long in our eras of dominance. Ferguson knows this and im pretty sure he'll have one eye on us from now on.

So what of the future? Well i'm happy, all too happy to let Kenny get on with things. I trust him to sign the players he feels he needs, whether thats Joey Barton, Eden Hazard or Robbie Savage. I'll forgive him Jimmy Carter. No seriously, for those that grew up with his management, you know you can trust him to get it right if he's backed and left to get on with the job.

Heres to a quiet rebuild this summer, the Liverpool way.

I have no qualms in admitting I had some reservations about him coming back. Absolutely blown away by the work he's done. I'm buzzing at the moment, as we all are. Rafa gave us some amazing times and of course a crushing away win at Fulham doesn't compare with tonking Real Madrid & the Mancs by 4 & 5 in the same week, winning the CL etc. However, with everything sorted off the pitch, Hodgson buried, Kenny back, youngsters in the team and the Academy looking rosy, fantastic football and everything else, I don't think I've been this excited about LFC for a long time. Magnificent.

My reservations also existed and were mainly due to Rafa being in the frame and available (well in my mind) and regarding Kenny were mainly based around what if's, what if he can't get us winning again, what if he tarnishes his legendary reputation.

We were in the footballing wilderness at the turn of the year... I could handle the league position I suppose, but the football we were playing was poisonous. I have never been so disenchanted with the game in all my years. Roy Hodgson, on the back of the nightmare that was ousting the Cowboys had removed any semblance of enjoyment in watching us play. Even if we won we were ****.

So to go from that to this, well it is nothing short of remarkable. Like many on here my first memories and indeed the reason I like football and support Liverpool are down to Dalglish. There is so much to admire in the man, his handling of the media and rival managers is brilliant. His quips and putdowns of journalists in press conferences are unsurpassed.
His man management of our players is superb (I cannot believe what he has done to Jay Spearing, a player I had totally written off, and Maxi, who I thought had perhaps had his day). The man towers over the game. He has been there seen it and done it both as a player and as a manager already You only need to watch SKY, now bereft of those 2 ****wits (Keys and Gray) there seems to be an awe and respect whenever we are mentioned now, and that is down to one man. Dalglish.

So proud of the way our Manager conducts himself and the way he believes in his players and gets them playing the 'Liverpool way' within 4 months of taking charge.

I always knew Kenny was special, but over time I had forgotten just how special he is, not just as a Manager but as a man.

If Kenny says jump. The reply will be "How high and how far sir?" Those players are showing that they want to play for him. It's amazing how motivational a person can be. He's united everyone. Players, fans, club staff and more. His impact was almost instant and he's made me forget the horror of the first months of this season. I hope he stays for a long long time

I was at the game last night - we were immense. The only time i have seen us play near to that level in the last 10 years is against west ham a few seasons ago away as well.

Rewind 6 months and we were all pretty much down with how things were going and how things were looking. Even when we were bought by FSG we, as fans, still weren't inspired or upbeat because of the idiot we had in charge.... i'm convinced Woy would have bought Carlton Cole in the Jan window!!!

What a difference a few months make. The team looks hungrier than it has for years and you get the feeling that there is more to come. We would probably all have said that Maxi was on the "get-rid" list a few months ago but now he looks inspired. You get the feeling that Jay Spearing has been told something along the lines of "we have money to spend on a top midfielder in the summer.....but you have 4 or 5 months to convince us we don't need to spend it on a midfielder" - he looks like he has the bit between his teeth in a big way and kenny has given him the confidence to stake his claim for a place in Liverpool FC's midfield.... Lucas looks like he is ready to grab the responsibility of being a key midfielder for LFC whereas before it looked like a weight on his shoulders.... the best compliment you can give to our team at the moment is that if Stevie Gerrard was back and 100% fit in the morning, it would be touch and go if he would get back into the first team!!! Also, we have a £35m striker who looks like he will have to bide his time before coming back into the team. We have a crop of youngsters that look like they have taken their chance due to lack of resources this season and as a conequence are ready to be part of the first team squad for next year. That means that we don't have to build the squad as much as we though - before we all agreed that we needed 2 left backs because PFK was a car-crash!!! Whereas now we can just spend the resources on 1 top left back because we have Johnson, Flanagan and Robinson who have proved they can play there with no problem....

We are playing some attractive, passing, attacking football that will attract real passionate footballers - like Suarez - to the club........

We are on the verge............next season, we will be back!!!

Exactly how I felt about him coming and how I feel now.

Kenny gave me goosebumps when I first saw him play on TV in 1977, the Euro Final. I asked my Dad who was that player, never mind the team. Dad says Kenny summat so I cheered when he got the winner! Ran out to tell my mates that Kenny won the cup, they asked who was playing as the others weren't watching it as their moms were probably watching bleeding Corrie. Told them Kenny & a team called Burgers! Then Dad proudly tells me that Kenny was playing for Liverpool! I was made up as had seen Liverpool trounced Spurs 7-0 on tv in black & white prior to that so told Dad that the team in grey were my team. Dad informed his six year old son because they wear red but it turns out grey on B&W TV. He got colour before the Euro final & I didn't recognise our famous red so my love affair started with Kenny all mixed up! So you can imagine what a six year old felt when his team & favourite player were together in red is exactly how I felt when Kenny came back to us in Jan!
Don't ever wanna lose this feeling again! Sign him up for life, John Henry & don't you ever give him trouble or hassle!

You always come across as desperately wanting Kenny to fail so you can be proven right.

Besides, what would be "interesting" about it? If we lose 30 games next season it still wont change the fact he's an incredible person and has been an amazing player and manager here.
