What's wrong with Spearing coming in? He did a grand job with Lucas last season, looked very solid with those pair together. Would have no fears with him next to Lucas against Stoke.

Just that his passing is very average compared to Charlie's I guess. Although he's a battler and that will be useful against a physical Stoke side.

Corrected. Even though Aquilani is perhaps a bit soft there's no way in a million years that Raul would play in the midfield in a double pivot anyhow so it's a void point really.

But Spearing or Henderson will do the job if he's not fit. It's just filling in for a game or two it's not sounding like it's the kind of knock which will have him out for a month or so.

I reckon Lil jay will do ok in place of Adam for the Stoke and maybe Spurs game.
This is why we never sold him as he is more than capable of filling in when needed.

maybe its more to do with the fact that we are now used to having **** cover in positions so some are automaticaly and understandbly panicking. WE SOLD/LOANED THE ****E DEADWOOD people. If im not mistaken Jay wasnt on the deadwood list so we should be a bit more positive.

As I recall, Spearing impressed everyone with his dedicated performances last season. Now we have new signings and more depth to our team does not make him a worse player. Hope he starts against Stoke as the system to 2 holding midfielder's was very effective last season.

I don't really have a problem with playing Spearing if he would be alongside Lucas (as was always the case in his appearances towards the end of last season I think).

However, if Lucas was injured and we had to rely on Spearing to play that DM role on his own then I'd worry, especially if it was against one of the other "big" teams.

I'm happy with him coming in to do a job, as long as he isn't too eager to impress and gets himself sent off. He knows he's not a first team regular so will try extra hard to impress and i just hope it doesn't work against us.
I was going to edit my post as i sort of repeated what i said but fock it.
