Amongst the euphoria of Istanbul, two things rile me:

1/ Traore has a Champions League medal.
2/ Josemi celebrating front left as if he'd been an integral part if the team.

Dont get anyone including Traore, obviously he was awful on the eye at times but you cant have a guy who was outstanding on the way to winning a champions league in your teams worst ever 11!

I think it irks me more that a player of his ability has a Champions League medal, hence his inclusion for me. He lacked even the basic skills to be even classed as a professional footballer - he had no balance, no poise, he couldn't run with the ball, he couldn't win the ball (bar the odd gangly lucky tackle), he couldn't cross, pass or shoot and his best footwork came against Burnley when he put it in his own net.

In the centre, I always hated Michael Thomas, as he was truely awful in possesion, at a time where we were supposed to be a team reknown for passing the ball. His signing was where it all went wrong for me.

He was better than that ponce Redknapp. I think it was the 95/96 season, him and Barnes were playing well together in the middle when they rushed Redknapp back in so he could make the euro 96 squad.

I think he *was* a good player, unfortunately, he was at the very end of his career when he came here and any little bit of speed he had, went, meaning he was exposed more often than not.

Plus him handing out Champions League medals to the fringe players, gives him a bye in these kinda teams, in my opinion. Let's face it, there's a few to choose from before we get to him.

Perhaps this thread should be re-named 'players who've failed to live up to expectation' because the likes of Pellegrino and Morientes clearly weren't bad players

Morientes (Or 'Motörhead' going by the auto-correct on my iPhone) was aces, just not suited to the Premiership.

Poulsen I've never really rated and Cole was always about the hype that he never lived up to.

Anyhoo, I can't see any of these in a worst XI bar Poulsen. I've never seen *anything* from him.
