Definitely stay. He will prove what a good player he really is.
Situation kind of reminds me of the summer before Xabis last season when there was so much debate about him. Many said he has been poor and should go etc, but luckily he stayed and proved what he is capable of. I think Aqi will do the same.

If, as seems likely, we can recoup more of our investment by selling Meireles than Aquilani, I'd keep the latter and sell the former. We really don't have room in the squad for both of them.
I thought someMOD was gonna ban the word Aquilani.
That would be me. I was waiting to see if he was definitely going to stay beyond next month... however as it seems he'll be a topic of regular conversation on here for a while either way, I might as well add a couple of the most obvious combinations to the filter.

He's more useful to us in the squad (not as first choice mind - cover for Gerrard IMO) that for the ever decreasing amounts rumoured we could sell him for. I also think he'll fit in with our new style of play very well.
If we found somebody willing to spend £15m on him, then I might revise this.

Aquilani
Aquilani
Aquilani
That'll do for now
I think the point of balance is important - Cole, Meirieles and Aquilani is far too much redundancy for similar players, it's worse when you consider Gerrard and Shelvey could be listed as competing for the same places.
I'd back which ever pruning from that group Dalglish favoured. I do think though that we might well need 2 players capable of playing most games in attacking central midfield + Gerrard in the squad.
I see Adam as playing a bit deeper and Meireles or Aquilani could do a job there whereas Cole might cover a wing. I think we have more cover for wide positions with Maxi and Kuyt. Thus I'd prioritise selling Cole. I also think people are going to have to accept some games with Meireles on one flank with Downing pushed higher up the pitch on the other.

The guy is gone. All the players we have bought in will be starters. It's laughable that the guy has done very little for us, Kenny has gone and got in players he wants and the majority on here would prefer the Italian. Doubting Kenny?
