His passing has pretty much been spot on in every game and seems up for the physical side too. Whether that's because he's putting himself in the shop window, who knows.
Aqualani playing in the second half 'team' would have been more beneficial, although I do think we'll start seeing more of a line-up forming over the next few fixtures.
If he played with likes of Adam, Downing, Carroll, Kuyt etc he would've had a much better game not that he was poor in first 45 minutes.

No doubt.....there were some positives to be taken from the second half despite the fact we didn't get on the scoresheet.Originally posted by Muddled View Post........

Some decent movement from Downing and Kuyt, and Henderson looked to move the ball quickly as well, but in fairness, there was a marked improvement in tempo from all of the 2nd half team compared to the first.
Carroll still looks a ponderous oaf, but there were flashes of how useful his style could be with the likes of Downing supplying some ammunition and from Adam's corners/FKs.
Not sure Carroll would ever have the front line intelligence to work with the likes of an Aqualani's short passing in the final third, but with someone like Suarez moving all over the attack line, I could see major problems being caused for the opposition defense. I would certainly like to see more of Aqualani in an advanced position instead of Raul for instance, but we'll just have to see what Kenny's plan's are."I will make the boys feel your support"

He's commentating on the Volga v Spartak Moscow match right now on ESPN, I thought he was exclusively LFC, but obviously not. Fair play to him.Originally posted by Cormack74 View PostWhy does John Bradley always refer to Poulsen as Christie-Anne rather than Christian.
I think Bradley generally does a fair job but this drives me bonkers.
Just saying.

I'm not sure about how good Carroll's game intelligence is, Kuyt (as a striker) could benefit from them...Originally posted by McDermotX View PostNo doubt.....there were some positives to be taken from the second half despite the fact we didn't get on the scoresheet.

Having been at the game yesterday I came to the following conclusions;
Aquilani was our best player on and off the ball yesterday, his movement off the ball in particular impressed me.
Charlie Adam's passing range really is excellent, he played one amazing cross field ball with the outside of his foot that ripped the Hull defence apart
Downing made a very positive impact when he came on and often looked like our best attacking outlet very skillful and took on his man at almost every attempt, crossing was good too.
Carroll really was awful, he was getting beaten in the air by a defender that was half his size, several times and when he did have the ball he didn't look interested, the only time he even smiled was in a reaction to someone shouting "cut your ****ing hair
" didn't look fully fit, and i'm hoping that he isn't because if he performs like that all season we are going to be relying on Suarez an awful lot.
Henderson looked useful plenty of room to improve there and we can only hope he reaches his full potential.
Finally, our defence was a shambles, we really do need to buy a new CB and a LB and sharpish too!The times they are a changin'.

Being at the game you certainly had a chance to see our players in the different light than us watching it at home (with the mouse pointer in the middle of the PC screen

Cheers and thanks for the heads up on Atherton. Hopefully I'll get to use that enlightening bit of info the next time I play WTF is ???Originally posted by Atherton red View PostAtherton is a small somewhat damaged but never beaten town in the north west. Half way between liverpool and manchester. Makes for some fun in the pubs when we play the scum. Joe Cole was awful yet again I really hope we get rid of him and extremely selfish on the ball at least five times he had the option to pass to Kelly but opted to go inside and ended up losing the ball. I know it is only a pre-season friendly but he is shocking and am hoping someone is interested in taking him."All I'll ever do is all I've ever done in any job, and that's promise to fight for my life for the supporters and the people of the city"

I thought Flanagan and Robinson were one (erm, or two) of the few positives from the game. Did they not make much of an impression pitchside? If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
