He does seem very content to keep things ticking over. I'd like to see him show a little more self belief and ambition from time to time. Obviously very early days. He's got all the attributes to be a good player. I'm looking forward to seeing how he develops over the season

I think it's hard to pigeon-hole Henderson, because we don't know his position; he's neither a central midfielder, nor a right sided one. From what I have seen, he's quick in his play - it's usually one touch to control, the next a pass. For me, he seems composed on the ball and has excellent vision.
I don't think it will be as black and white as this, but roughly speaking I see Henderson as an outlet in the middle of the park; an option for our defense to hit, knowing he will retain possession and build an attack. I think on the counter, we will also see a diagonal crossfield ball from Adam to Henderson (left to right) and Henderson going long and to the far post towards Carroll, who then relies on support from Suarez and Kuyt (if playing) with Gerrard coming from deep.
I realise this is a simplistic opinion of our play and whilst we won't be as one dimensional as this, I think it's the easiest way of explaining Henderson's role. I guess £16m is a fortune for an 'oultet', but it's guess work really until we see what position and in what formation he plays in under Kenny.

- but I don't get Jordan Henderson. Not yet anyway. Said before I've hardly seen him play so I accept I'm not very well informed, but from what I've seen so far I don't get him, what he's supposed to be or what he's supposed to do. The one thing that stands out is his 'engine' and how much running he gets through. Otherwise, I'm stuck (at this admittedly very very early stage).
Early days but I didn't understand Hendo's signing initially and still don't understand it.
Hopefully Kenny and Henderson will prove us all wrong.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I was at the game yesterday right by the tunnel in the paddock.
Not sure if this got picked up by TV. The Valencia coach picked up the ball when it went out of play and instead of giving it to a Liverpool player (can't remember who) who had his arms out to collect it, the coach threw it away down the touchline. The 3rd official immediately had a word with him, but Kenny turned to the Valencia coach and shouted "You ****ing prick!"

I certainly don't think he can take over Gerrard's mantle like was being suggested. I think we should have pursued James McCarthy as he is more in the mould of Gerrard. We will see though, hope he proves us wrong.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostGot to confess - and don't ****ing slaughter me for it
