Kenny Dalglish today revealed that Luis Suarez is in contention to face Sunderland on Saturday.

The striker made a belated return to Melwood following his heroics at the Copa America but the boss admitted he could yet be involved against the Black Cats after impressing on the training pitch.

Dalglish told his pre-match press conference: "He's trained and has no problem. We'll wait and see how he is tomorrow. We'll also see how Glen Johnson is in the morning.

"Obviously Steven (Gerrard) and Martin Skrtel aren't there and they are the only two. Everyone has come back from the international matches fine."

I think Suarez will be on the bench; having been at the Copa America he should be in good shape (and buzzing after the win ) but I think the lack of a meaningful pre-season means Kenny will be cautious with him. I'd expect him to come on for the last 20-30mins for a run out and to run at Sunderland's defence once they start to tire.

Such a difference going into this season than the season before. I was no optimistic at all, feeling a bit let down with Hodgson and very uninspired overall. Feels it's not even the same club.

Now I'm buzzing and feeling quite torn between watching Liverpool and my local team which made it for the Icelandic Cup final for the first time in it's history , and the game is at five (UK) tomorrow, I'll probably miss the second half of Liverpool.
