Murphy was ok. Nothing spectacular, but he showed what he was capable of when he first went to Charlton and was only dropped because he got all egotistical and then wanted to go to Spurs.

I guess the Lampard comparison is fair, far less of a player but then I think Lampard is a really quality midfielder.

It is a refreshing change to see a list of this sort without Diao on it. Not sure why he isn't mind you.

While I'm at it Heskey started and finished his time with us with some excellent form. He dipped badly, but at least part of that was due to how he was instructed to play. I would have liked to have seen him play under Rafa.

I wonder if he is afriad to stamp his football philosophy on the team.

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Diao hardly played but that sorry lot did.... and a lot! No wonder we couldn't play pass and move, the ones that could move - Heskey, Traore etc couldn't pass, ones that could pass - Murphy etc couldn't move and Biscan was just plain ****e.

Because the team is hardly his, and he must have learnt his lesson after his sacking.... he inherited a team of triple champions and a strong dressing room - he is hardly likely to change that. Not even he is that thick.

The last two years of Houllier's reign were most certainly the most depressing times to be a Red.

                  erm 3 times actually.

Murphy was ok, a utility player at best. Was useful to a point but then regressed. Rafa got rid the moment he saw him.

Heskey was absolutely brilliant in the treble season, Smicer scored a goal and a penalty in the Champions League final, and without Biscan we never would have got to the final in the first place.

I think you are missing how much they have improved (particularly in Europe) under Houllier. He seems to have done a job similar to that Benitez did at Valencia take a really good team and make them better.

Heskey cost us £11M and gave us one decent season - well the firts half of that season. Smicer cost us £15 in wages and fees, he left for free... he was ****e overall.

Murphy was **** mainly, Mr Invisible....

How? What have they won that Le Guen didn't?
