Absolutely. Carroll could do with a goal or two to take some weight off of his shoulders, as well as some much needed fitness. Give Suarez the final 30 minutes for sharpness. If Wash is going to Bolton, then I can't see him getting any game time, so perhaps we'll see Morgan.

The midfield kinda picks itself; Maxi, Spearing & Meireles will get (need) some game time, that will provide the experience to be able to mix in some youth. I'd like to see Sterling, but can't see it happening. More than likely it will be Cole and Shelvey.

In defence, I think Skrtel will play, Johnson (if fit) to get minutes, Robinson on the left, then either Carragher or Zorba the Greek. Doni completes the set.

We should treat this with respect as a potential trophy to win. Hopefully well get a kind draw in the next few rounds too, then consider it as a potential trophy.

The senior players who haven't been playing will start IMO (Skrtel, Kyriakos, Meireles etc). I think some first team players could get game time in the hope of getting goals or fitness. But I thibk the youngsters such as Sterling, Wisdom and Coady could be involved from the bench.

Id maybe throw Lucas in the mix there with Pablos team with the big man up top to try and get some goals in him.
Lucas didnt really have too much of a pre season so it could be good for him. Not for too long though, maybe 45 mins same with Carroll.

The only reason i wouldnt play Lucas is that he's our only PROPER first choice holding mid/protector of the back four and he's brilliant - thus, i wouldnt be risking him. We need him for the league games.
