i would like to see us play a strong team to be honest - because i think if we were to win by say, 4 goals, then confidence will grow going forward.....

I would like to see a team of:

With a bench consisting of the likes of Kuyt, Ngog, The greek, lucas and maybe one or two young players. With northampton, woy made the mistake or playing a totally weakened team and it focked with the confiedence of some of the younger players - i think that if we are going to see the likes of Sterling or Suso, then i would like to see that in the 70th minute, coming on as a sub when we are already 2 or 3 goals to the good and the contest is over.........

I hope to see carroll playing because he needs goals.........again he could come off after an hour or so.......hopefully after scoring a goal or two......

also, i would like to see skrtel and agger try to start playing together......carra might need to start phasing out and we need to start building the partnership (although if shawcross or cahill sign, then that's obviously a load of bollix!!!)

Theirs an argument for fielding a near full strength team for this one. Giving Exeter a right thrashing would be great for confidence and another game for all the new lads to gel together.

I'd definitely play Carroll, he's not fit enough and needs a goal. Another game with Downing, Adam, Henderson and Enrique playing together would be good.

I'd be tempted to say only rest Pepe, Carra, Kuyt & Agger for this one. Suarez on the bench again.

Northampton were **** too its still a competitive game so we can't just send out a random bunch of 11 players who have possibly never played a competitive game together... I agree with only resting Agger, Carra, Reina, Kuyt and Suarez. To be replayed by Skrtel, Soto, Doni, Meireles and with probably Carroll starting too.

I wouldn't want to rest Carra, after the Bolton game comes the internationals - he can rest then.
If Cole is on his way out he shouldn't play of course - but if he isn't he needs to work for his wages for a change!

I think there is a lot in that sentiment but at the same time I do think we need to be using these games to develop some of our young players. Perhaps the bench is the best place for the likes of Sterling but I do think we have to be looking to give Robinson, Flanagan, etc. proper competitive games when we can.

I agree that we need to test some of the younger players and fringe players in this game. Players like Flannagan, Spearing, Robinson springs to mind. If nothing is sorted I would expect Aquilani to play and perhaps Cole would get a start as well. Henderson could do well against a lesser opponent.

I could see Kelly getting a game in CD and perhaps players like Coady and Sterling coming off the bench.

I can't work out why you'd start Cole instead of Maxi ( and not even on the bench) ?
