I think it was ronanm that wanted a lay-put similar to this? And to be fair it's a good call. Anyhoo.

I think we can count Meireles as unavailable, any news on Carroll's knee or Johnson? We *need* Suarez and I would hope Kuyt would come back in to the team as Henderson looks a little overawed at the moment. Robinson did a more than competent job against Exeter, but needs to step aside for Enrique to continue his form. Carroll (if fit) needs minutes and should have a decent battle with Cahill. Downing to slot back in on the left, with Lucas looking to mop up. The team I'd go for:

Johnson is due to return 27 August 2011, so I guess it's whether he needs a little longer to get match fit.

It's a fair point with regard to Maxi. It would also be the better option if we insist on Downing swapping flanks, as Maxi is a better option than Kuyt on the left flank.

As for Henderson ... I think you're right. He just needs a little more conviction and self-belief, he seems to be alright when things are ticking over nicely in the centre of the park, but when it comes to making a snap decision in the final third, he just bottles it. To be fair to him, he started off reasonably well last night, but after his dive he just retreated in to his shell and it all went tits up.

It would remove our tendency to lump it long to the head of Carroll; it was interesting how are our play suddenly changed as soon as Carroll came on, and that's no slur of Carroll, but more the players around him.

However, I think we need to get Carroll fired up and going in to aerial challenges with a bit of conviction. Suarez leading the line would leave us a little light up front and for us to be potentially bullied - we'd be heavily reliant on Kuyt supporting him, maybe exposing Kelly on the right.

I think Suarez will not be bullied actually, he's a tough fast nut. Maybe a point about Kelly, but that's what Lucas is for. I'm excited about seeing Enrique and if he follow up on his last performance.

Exactly what i would have. Just the Henderson/Kuyt thing for me too. I think Kuyt will start from the bench though. He is good to throw on as the option. Especially with Raul out.

We resting Kuyt for the game yesterday so I wouldn't be surprised if Kenny plays him ahead of Hendo or even Carroll.

- it's not just this place - every liverpool forum i've checked is the same...

it's really bizarre atm....

I've read so many different views from last nights game that i feel i need to reassess my life and go back and watch it again

Understand some of the comments towards Henderson and Carroll - but can't understand any of the real negativity.

We a 'new' side, young, plenty of potential, couple of stars, plenty of raw talent, decent experience, giving us a good squad mix...maybe need one or two more players (this sebastion coates and a good striker would be nice), we have a manager that we all love! and we have pretty decent owners so far who have been humble, quiet, and backed the club pretty well.

It's almost as if....after years of aiming frustration at houiller, benitez, hodgson, hicks and gillette.....We've got noone to slag off now so we really getting stuck into a couple of youngsters


the only 'critiscism' i can really see to be aimed at carroll and henderson, is the money paid for them seems a bit too much - But....had we not signed them...and say Arsenal and Spurs signed them....we'd be going "****s sake...couple of young english talent, coming through, loads of potential, and we miss out cause we weren't prepared to pay a few extra million than they're worth"

Good side...plenty of movement pace and passing ability - hopefully will click together early on, and be too much for bolton

I've dropped Henderson and Carroll cause they're ****
