    Our strongest line-up?

Now that the transfer window is closed, it'll be interesting to see what people think our strongest line-up is when everyone is fit? I started the same thread on ST.

    I am going with this.

    -----------------Reina

    Johnson---Carra----Agger----Enrique

    ----------Lucas------Adam

    Henderson-----Gerrard------Downing

    ---------------Suarez

The balance for me is important. I like the fact that we have right footed players down the right hand side and left footed players down the left hand side. I would like to see Gerrard back in the role he striked up a good relationship with Torres. I get the feeling both him and Suarez could form a devastating partnership. For me Henderson should keep his place. He obviously likes to pass and move and make late runs into the box. I like that. One slight negative though I felt he had a good game against Bolton but I did notice him drifting inside on a number of occasions which made us lose our shape. I think at one stage Lucas had the ball and wanted to pass it out wide to the right but Henderson wasn't there. He put his hand in the air as if to say "where were you" It's not a major problem but if he becomes more smarter in his positioning and knows when to come more central I think we'll have an even better player.

I have left ma boy Coates out because it will be unfair to throw him straight in at the deep end.

Yes, you have noticed I have also left Carroll out of my team but don't worry I am not going to bore you again with my reasons. For me this team has players who will look to be more inventive and will cause problems with their movement. If this doesn't work out we can bring on Bellamy who will always be a threat even if he's having mare due to his movement or we can bring on Carroll as an alternative due to his physical presence.

Swap Henderson for Kuyt and it's there.

I think Henderson will suprise a few people. He is not the finished article but I can see him developing into a good player for us. He is a pass and move player which fits in well with Kenny's philosophy.

I think he has a lot of potential. But at the moment, I'd prefer Kuyt ahead of him.

Kuyt would have to be in the team. Our top assister and goal scorer last season, his partnership with Luis is phenomenal. It's no coincidence that our worst performance came when he didn't start.

I still believe Suarez needs a partner and would struggle to lead the line on his own. Kuyt - as proven so far - is great in helping him out.

Suarez will have no problems leading the line. There's also a certain Gerrard to help him out. I can't think of anyone better than him to get the best out of Suarez.

I'm not that confident to be honest.

I'm struggling to get it in to words and would obviously need to see it in practice, but I think Suarez will drop deep as well as occupy the left flank, leaving us with little focal point up top.

Now if Suarez drops deep in the centre, he's now in the same space as Gerrard. If he drops to the left, Downing goes on the outside (for arguments sake), Gerrard remains central and Henderson (who has yet to stay on the right) makes it even narrower (is that a word?!)

With Kuyt playing, we have a goal threat AND a work horse. Now Suarez can drop centrally, Downing to his left, Gerrard moves to the right and Kuyt goes up top. We have a balanced, attacking four all capable of finding the correct ball, all capable from distance as well as the added threat of being able to deliver a great ball in the knowledge that Kuyt will be in the box to get on the end of it.

I think with Henderson on the right (at the moment) and Suarez leading the line, we lose an element of our attacking flexibility.

I'd like to add that the fact that we can all have so many opinions on what our best formation is and how we can swap out quality in the squad and replace it with quality is a credit to FSG, Kenny and Commoli, we've built a very decent squad and are possibly only a couple of links off a definite title challenging squad. Definitely a welcome change after being held back by that pair of cowboys

I think Kuyt and Gerrard together would get the best out of Suarez. I really hate to believe this, but I fear that the type of relationship that Gerrard and Torres had for two seasons is one that cannot be replicated. Suarez is also a different type of player. Torres needed Gerrard to excel because he needed his service. Thats not the case with Suarez; he is the spark, look at the first goal against the Mancs last year. In that sense, he needs several players around him to bounce of, create space for, or provide the killer pass. Kuyt, for me, is that player over Hendo. Perhaps, Jordan can spell Adam at CM in a few games?

Interestingly, it could be Gerrard and Kuyt that benefit more than Suarez from their partnership. In stark contrast to Nando as evidenced by what has happened at the chavs.

                            Reina
                            Johnson Skrtle Agger Enrique
                            Adam Lucas Downing
                            Kuyt Suarez Bellamy

Only reason I dont have Carroll in there is because he's off form. It wont be long before he sorts himself out and because an automatic choice

I think it'll be the customary kenny formation switch, he's always done this for certain away games and with the big lads they have upfront, I think it'll be 5 at the back. A point here isn't the worst result although obviously we should be going all out for the 3.

                              Reina

                              Skrtel Carra Agger Wilson Enrique
(Johnson if fit - and the others shift along with Wilson missing out)

                              Henderson Lucas Adam Downing

                              Carroll

I think this is how Kenny will go although it would't be my choice.
