Good point. COMPLETELY forgot about that. Suspensions apply to “domestic football” and not specific competitions, right? If that’s the case then Momo will be okay to play tomorrow.

      Can anyone clear this up?

The suspension would apply to all comps, because Dudek had to miss the Carling game didn't he. I'm just not sure about the time frame before it kicks in.

As yellow cards can't be appealed I would imagine it must be an automatic suspension for the next match.

A reserve side will play against Birmingham next week anyway, so apart from resting Momo, we should pretty much play the Reading game with our full strength line up. The league is our priority now as we've already secured qualification for the next Champions league phase.

If that's all true, then Momo should play and make SURE he gets booked.

7days. Only red cards and 2 yellows in a match are immediate bans.

So where does this leave us with Momo then?

If hes booked tomorrow he misses Arsenal.

Paul Konchesky was booked for the 5th time against Spurs on 22nd of October, he played the next game in the midweek and was banned for the weekend game against Blackburn as it takes 7days for the ban to start.

Good, so the thread is worthwhile after all!

                        Rest him, definitely.

I reckon we (injury permitting) we should keep the same 11 as the last 2 games, if Momo getting booked will affect the game against Arsenal then we should defo leave him out. Syd I see what you are saying about resting Stevie G but I disagree, IMO he is slowly starting to get going and with him scoring a goal on Tues night the last thing he would want would be to rest him - all the noises he has been making in the paper's this weeks means that he is really starting to get back into it - I reckon he should defo start 2moro and unleash hell on the Reading defence, with his confidence starting to grow he needs games like this to further boost it.

                          To sum up -
Best Case Scenario (no injuries, momo's booking not affected arse game etc)

                          Reina
                          Finann - Hyppia - JC - JAR

                          SG - Xabi - Momo - Luis

                          --------Crouch-----Kuyt

Worst case(injuries to xabi/luis Momo rested)

                          Reina

                          Finnan - Hyppia - JC - Warnock

                          Pennant - SG - Zenden - Riise

                          -----Crouch - KUyt

Apparently Xabi and Momo are fit, Garcia is out with a pulled muscle.

IMO Riise is the best option at LM with Warnock behind him
