My opinion, Coates looked assured and considering the circumstances i thought he did well on his debut.
Skrtel proved what we all knew that is is an accident waiting to happen at right back, i dont mind him as a 3rd/4th choice centre back.
Suarez was/is rightly getting pissed off with how long it takes Adam to pass the ball, at the moment he wants a split second too long and that extra touch slowing everything down.
In fact in the first 5 minutes Adam had the chance to put Suarez in one on one down our left hand side and overhit the pass by about 30 yards, he (Adam) started badly and got worse.
I didn't agree with the team or the tactics but don't pretend to know more than Kenny.

I also strongly believe Henderson and Carroll will become good players for us but at the moment they should be subs not starting
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Aside from the yellow card (another harsh one) where Coates looked to have been caught out by the pace of the action, he did alright. Promising and in fairness, not the ideal situation to throw him into.

He'll probably play on Wednesday night and i think/hope there may be a chance for him to secure a first team spot.

        Kenny got it completely wrong today IMO. You know spurs are going to be full of energy, especially at home. A starting line up of;

        Reina

        Carragher
        Skrtel
        Agger
        Enrique

        Kuyt
        Adam
        Lucas
        Downing

        Bellamy
        Suarez

would have won this game today

I wonder if Gerrard his a niggle in his injury. He played in an arranged closed doors game on monday and didint even make the bench today

He only started training last week!! And said he was absolutely exhausted after two training sessions, he's just nowhere near ready yet.

On a topic slightly less painful than the game....

Mr Jones, todays ref, I've just learned via a Google search that he is the same Mr Jones who gave the Beachball goal. And on tyhe subject of Coates, given his paternal Scottish roots, why is he being called Kwatez?

                Because that's how it's pronounced.
                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

By giving a silly yellow early in the game, he puts himself in a difficult position later on, within the context of referees not really wanting to send players off, and preferring to try and keep 22 men on the field. Which refs are meant to want to do.
I don't think that concept even entered his head.

                        **** it.

We're still ahead of Spurs and Arsenal. We've three very difficult away games out of the way & Kenny will learn from mistakes unlike some other managers.

A win against Wolves is a must though, I don't care if it's convincing or not, just get the three points before another two difficult games.

Looking at the fixture list. If we don't fall behind anyone before the start of March, we'll be ok. We've a handy run in compared to the others. And when I say fall behind clubs, i mean spurs and arse not the two manc teams who are running away at the top.

look guys all im saying is that weve had a bad start. there have been some ridiculous decisions against us, but we havent been helped by some ****e tactics and today was no exception.

the way we started spurs was unnaceptable, and sunderland at home was rubbish. yes we beat arsenal but so will many other teams this year because they look well out of it so beating the gunners away from home isnt the result that some on here think it is.

ultimately with so many new signings the onus is on the manager especially with commolli saying this is a really well balanced squad etc... no one is saying that kennys clueless but the formation and the way we were set up defies belief.

i genuinely thought we had enough for fourth but im not so sure now because after 5 games theres huge issues that need addressing. we dont look anywhere near a top 4 team.

City drew, Chelsea lost as did Arsenal it could have been a worse weekend for us - obviously we were dreadful today but we have to look forward and make sure we take 3 points next weekend, if we can manage that things won't be quite so bleak as they are today

Carra has tons more experience of playing at RB and is positionally much more aware/responsible. Skrtel is a disaster at RB and one good game there against an abysmal Bolton side doesn't change that. He was positionally all over the place today and Carragher wouldn't have been lacking in that department.

I never want to see Skrtel at right back again.
Don't you know Carragher is slower than Skrtel and would have been 'raped' by Bale?
