However, I would like to point out the following:

1:Overspening
Carroll £35m. Oh Christ how did that happen?
Henderson £20m. Massively overpriced
Downing £20m. Seriously overpriced.

2:Spent the money in the wrong areas.
Self evidently. Just look at the obvious glaring gaps in the squad,

we did get screwed on them transfer fees .....it's now upto the players to show us there worth it

I still feel we'll be finishing in the top 4 come the end of this season, we were very poor yesterday no doubting that but it was our first truely poor performance of the season, we had 2 players sent off and we're still ahead of the likes of Spurs and Arsenal who will continue to drop points this season - I mean Arsenal lost 4-3 to Blackburn!

Look at the predictions thread, probably 40% predicted we'd lose. It really isn't terminal, Sunderland showed Saturday that they are no mugs, Stoke have a very very good record at home because of the deep shagpile grass and minimum width pitch. Chill people

We under paid for Suarez, Adam and Enrique though. So in the end it all balances out. Coates is still an unknown too. You cant just pick a few examples to make a point.

Cant excuse the lack of effort and quality from our team but that coupled with what has to be one of the worst refereeing displays ive seen in a long time we were lucky it wasnt 6-0.

The referee's association need to look at that guys performance and take some action.

I can't really argue with our two red cards. I think Adam's second yellow was unlucky and he was genuinely stretching for the ball, but I think if that was against us I'd be calling for a booking.

The ref got plenty wrong throughout the game (can Parker not be done via video evidence for his off the ball deliberate trip on Lucas? Don't see why that should be different than an off the ball elbow for example ), but I don't think we can complain about the red cards personally.

Just a really ****ty day all round.
