    Agger's broken ribs

Daniel Agger's agent has revealed the full extent of the defender's latest injury.

Agger's agent, Per Steffenson told Danish newspaper Elkstra Bladet the following:

"He [Agger] has been for a scan, and he has two broken ribs. He must rest for four weeks, and then he can return to training. It's a big blow for him, especially since his time at Liverpool has been plagued by injuries so far".

Doubt Danny needs to start drinking his milk. sigh.

Should have cashed in in the summer. Don't care if he's our best defender by a mile when fit, that's no good when he spends half the season on the sidelines. Saying that, I'm glad we never signed Dann, Cahill or any other premier league defender we were linked with.

The guy is just fragile. He'll never be a consistent performer for an entire season. It's a real shame because he's our best defender and we're going to miss him badly.

Hopefully Coates steps up. He's got a great chance now.

Talk about bad luck. Just when he was really looking settled and actually playing well.

cant disagree. he adds a huge amount to our team however you have to question the benefit if he is not there for half of every season

          so we need another cb.

never said he was but if he was still at the club he would have been good defensive cover

He lay down in the game unchallenged (to say it was a fall is over-dramatising the incident) on soft grass and broke ribs!! My young daughters have fallen down flights of stairs (accidently of course!) and have walked away. Fragile is unfair on the term too, my TV coming in the back of a white van is fragile, I don't think Agger would survive such a trip.

                    Sadly.

major blow - gutted for him but it's becoming a ****ing nightmare now...

go for gary cahill in january - he's not bad at bringing the ball out the defence/can play a bit, reasonably quick too...plus coming to the end of his contract

hopefully coates is half as good as some of the hype i've read

i'd then consider in the summer signing a new top centre half from somewhere...and move on agger/skrtel and have carra as 4th choice.

                      new centre half
                      cahill
                      coates
                      carra

all we need then is a fit first choice right back, a top centre half, a quality/creative right attacking mid and goalscoring striker and we're sorted.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

not sure i agree. was good in his time at the club but he had a dodgy spell and only when dropped, and then used sparingly or more intelligently depending on your view did he recapture that form.

like all players you cant go for ever.

Problem is, it will be very difficult for Kenny to leave a fully fit Agger out of the team. Either stand by him and bring in a covering CB (an experienced older player) or sell him and bring in someone like Cahill for the long term.

he is retired so probably not good cover.

i just dislike how the past is always the solution.
