It's bound to be Webb, away at Anfield surely they'll need their star player!

I think Maxi should be on the right for this one. I don't know why he isn't getting a shout yet, he deserves the chance.

I'm ****ting it already but I'm looking forward to it too at the same time, if that makes any ****ing sense at all!

Think it will be a harder game this season than it was last year though. I feel we need to step up the performance level too because United are playing very well at the moment.

We need to press them hard like we did last year and nullify their pace threat, put a lot of pressure on Jones and De Gea as they are shaky, Carroll needs to smash the **** out of De Gea, I know that's not very sportsman like but I couldn't give a flying **** to be honest.

A win would be fantastic for our confidence too and would close the gap on them cunts in the process.

I hate these games, although not so much these days. Mellowed with age as well as not watching them up the pub. In fact the 3 times I saw this game live (in the early PTS days) they were much less nervous affairs then watching in a packed pub full of cunts.

Massive game, a win would seriously make a statement & pulls United right back towards us.
I think I would go with this as well. Although...

I would feel a little more comfortable with. Maybe even Carroll, ahead of Saurez as a late sub

I wouldn't start Suarez. He's going to be ****ed and subbed at some staged. I'd rather he had 30 mins running at a tiring defence late on, then taking our best player off with some way to go.

Just imagine Suarez & Bellamy coming on around the 60th min against a defence that is not only tiring but aren't most coming back from injury?

Carroll needs to smash into that keeper a few times too, he's just not up for it. I've noticed every time he goes up to try and catch a ball, one of their defenders actually takes their eye of the ball & positions himself infront of the keeper making sure no one can challenge him. wtf is that all about?

good point all it takes is for him to make one fumble and somebody like kuyt is usually there to clear those up and stick em in the back of the net.

I would be very surprised if Kenny would start him.

He'll play against Bolivia and Paraguay within 4 day span (on 7th and 11th) and when you factor in the grueling 19-hour flight back, the likelihood of him being in the starting 11 against Mancs is very slim.

More likely outcome imo is that he will come in the last 1/3 of the game to put some pressure on Mancs back 4.

Its a 12.45pm Saturday kickoff. Suarez's ears will still be ringing at that time. He will definitely have to be an impact sub, but what a bench to bring on.

Start with Carroll up front and Gerrard behind. Then bring on Suarez and Bellamy off the bench on 65 minutes. Murder.

It seems to me that it's the sort of thing United would do. I agree though it's not a starting formation for me - we will need more control of the ball against United. That said later in the game players like Kuyt and Bellamy cutting into the area between midfield and centrebacks could be an excellent option to have.

                            Agree with all of that.

Carroll also needs to clatter de Gea early on. He's a bit of a flapper with catching / crosses and if Carroll can put a dent in his confidence early on then that can only help us.

I seem to remember him doing well on his debut for us and winning almost everything in the air. If he can do that from the start next week then I'll be very happy.

If Suarez is on the bench I'd be very tempted to start Bellamy.

Carroll should play because his form in the last 2 and his goal aginst Everton warrant it, also the Basle striker and Morrison from Norwich gave their centre backs a torrid time in the air.
My team if everyone is fit would be -
                                Reina
                                Johnson Carra Agger Enrique
                                Lucas Adam
                                Kuyt Gerrard Downing
                                Carroll.

Obviously Kelly and Skrtel if Johnson and Agger don't make it.
Last 20 move Gerrard back into Adam's role, bring on Suarez.
