I think that we were the better team and I'm disappointed that we only got a point, but the better display in the second half is encouraging.

Downing though... I have never liked him, I was very disappointed when we bought him, and I'm still waiting and hoping he'll prove me wrong.
Why on earth would he dive when, having gone past Ferdinand, he was clean through on goal? It was obvious he was tripped

We were the better side on Saturday no doubt about it. If both sides put out the same team, we would win that game 9 times out 10, home or away. The bottom line is that we had a stronger first XI than them.

However, if they had Rooney and Nani in the side then the tables would turn imo. They would also have Hernandez, Berbatov and Valencia on the bench which is stronger than any of our attacking options from the bench.

So for me, it's really now a matter of bringing in outstanding individuals who can play as part of a team or can do a bit of magic themselves to really break back into the top 4.
Well they brought on Rooney and Nani and still failed to fashion a chance from open play in the last twenty minutes. Reina had absolutely bugger all to do for 90 minutes

The thing people seem to forget that even in games where they don't play five defenders against us at Anfield they always get everyone behind the ball, pack the midfield, play one up front and use Rooney in a deep position withdrawn on the left. The only times he's scored against us in games are the time when Dudek let a soft shot squirm in and when he had a penalty saved and scored the rebound.

Ferguson always plays this way at Liverpool, parks the bus and hopes to pinch a goal. If any Liverpool manager had adopted a similar approach he would be slaughtered by the media. Ferguson's negative approach however attracts pretty much no criticism.

They looked a very mediocre bunch and while I thought we were below par we were much better than them. I really can't see them winning the league this year and there's no chance at all that they'll do anything in the CL
