Disappointing so far given how well it started off.

I wonder how many signatures aren't counted because of people forgetting to click the confirmation link via email.

Shocked at how low the numbers are... really needs more publicity.

Perhaps the players should retweet the links?

I think its lost steam because it'll not go for debate. Its not really a government issue is it?

35000+ people signing a petition is not a trivial matter though.

I know its not. The process is for a vote to happen to see if it goes for debate. It wont, because there is nothing the MPs can do to force them to reveal sources. It gets into muddy areas about freedom of the press. Its ****. But I am in no way calling it trivial. I think even if it got 200,000 signatures it still wouldn't happen.

It would put pressure on them to do so and bring this issue back to the public's attention, and hopefully negatively affect their sales.

Perhaps someone should forward this on to some of the mirror journalists on twitter maybe their rivalry with the S*n could get this campaign back on track
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

36,273. That would not even fill Anfield on a match day.

Slightly annoyed today. I was going to post this in the "Little things..." thread but it'd get lost in the guff spouted by one or two of the usual posters sadly.

A couple of close mates and colleagues of mine buy The Sun or read it online.

One close mate will buy it daily, two mates who I work with will read it online or buy it, and a mate of mine who is also the landlord of our local will buy it daily. They're all Reds.

Fair enough, we're not from Merseyside and I didn't find out about the boycott until I was about 18 (I'm 27 next week) so we're not going to be as educated about it as those who live in the area.

However, I've told my mates about the boycott plenty of times and sent them links to the JFT96 website, yet today one of the ****ers sends me a link to a story on their website. And then makes a pissy comment when I emailed him back to say that I'm not clicking on the link. Shocking. Not one of them will stop reading it. They make some kind of remark like "Oh yeah, from the paper you won't read", and roll their eyes.

Is it me? Or are they being cunts about it?

Ultimately, this kind of thing should be personal, not simply people just following a bandwagon for the sake of it. There are a number of reasons why I would never buy the sun, and the boycott is one. If people feel differently then it's obviously up to them, and I don't think they should be judged too harshly for it. Just quite harshly.
