That's not how it looked on telly.

They had probably 10 minutes in each half where they better.

We had about 8 or 9 clear cut chances.
    Oh I don't know.

Honestly felt we were very strong for the first 20 minutes and then better in the last 15 mins. For the other 55 mins, they were better than us IMO.

We could have won whis game 3-1. Their keeper made two amazing saves - add to that hitting the woodwork two or three times, it was just incredibly frustrating. I definitely don't think its a hand wringing disaster. We would have lost this game last year.

And giving him just 10 minutes to make an impression when looking for a winner seemed strange to me.
As Craig said, I didn't think it was a sitter the ball looked slightly behind him. Mind you for £35m you'd like to think he could find the back of the net

3-1 you say Daniel? Courtesy of our missed chances?

Conveniently ignoring the sitter that Holt had, then?

It was a "could" Craig. Not conveniently missing off anything.

You saw a different game to me. They did play well for part of the second half but I thought we were on top for most of the game and 3 or 4 1 wouldn't have flattered us.

I'm very disappointed with the result and understand your frustration but I think you've formed a slightly too depressing view of things.

I just saw how comfortable they were in possession, how we didnt put them under pressure when they had it, how we invited them onto us and how jittery we were at the back at several times in the game.

we havent been dominating teams at all.

we've had a good 15 - 20 mins and after that the opposition seems to run all over us. The amount of space norwich had in midfield was a joke. It reminds me of how we used to line up under hodgson - sitting deep, allowing the opposition to dominate midfield and try to hit long balls from the keeper out to the front.

i lost count the number of times reina just punted it long and wasted it. the tactics need to sharpen up or we wont qualify for the CL.

                          This x100000000.

Absolutely nailed it 100%, that's exactly how it was. Pepe punting it up in the hope that Suarez can drag it out of the air, beat 3 defenders and smash it into the top corner.

Our lack of ideas and invention, was painful. I watched long punt after long punt from Pepe and just kept thinking "Christ, is this all we've got?"

Some thought-provoking points on here. After the game I wanted to eat my own hands with sheer frustration but I only came away from the game questioning fairly basic things and not absolute fundamentals such as Kenny and tactics and so on.
I said it after the Man U game, Suarez is not a finisher and we clearly need an assassin in the box because we had the chances to win three games yesterday.
Kuyt has one of those days where you're reminded of a great quote from an American football coach who said of a certain player that "Effort takes no skill".
Downing is contributing nothing for a 20million player, incredibly frustrating, and if he hits one more defender with one of his ponderous attempted crosses or shots I think I'll tear off my own balls and throw them at him.
I'm also trying to pinpoint exactly what Adam is supposed to be bringing to the team, but I certainly didn't come away from the game wringing my hands with big picture concerns about Dalglish or tactics or such like.
I think with the exception of the period about twenty minutes in and after their goal we gave Norwich a bit of a chasing and lack of composure was what cost us a resounding win after which there wouldn't be a fraction of the soul searching on here that there is now. I think the referee went out there not to give us any of the 50-50 decisions as well.
We can count ourselves unlucky IMO to not have six points in the bag after the last two games and on the basis of those performances, flaws accepted yes, and having had a chance to cool off, I'm not too upset when I remind myself that this season is step one on a long road back.

Step one it is, but I'm not convinced we've taken the step in precisely the right direction.

Not having a pop based on those 10 minutes. We're still waiting for Carroll to show more than what he's done so it's hardly unfair.
