i'm only guessing, but i imagine it's because he's never rated him and doesn't think that any amount of time is going to see him improve sufficiently.

I said he is not playing well enough and I think he has been poor and I believe we have better options than him. As I also said, I don't think he is playing any different to how he was at Villa or Boro.
