Swansea pressed our defenders and Reina hard when we had the ball causing a few hairy moments but we let them stroke the ball across the back care free.

I read an interesting pre-match article yesterday that basically said Swansea keep possession and pass at the back waiting for a moment to attack. It said that we needed to press them and disrupt their passing game.

Having watched the game I think the article was pretty much on the money about what they would do but we let them play their game and we didn't play ours.

I remember him putting a few decent balls in, in the first half in particular, it was down the left with that we caused all the problems for Swansea.

The second half he wasn't as good but I think that's probably true of everyone.

I'm not saying he had a great game, but he was critisised the last few weeks for the quality of the balls he put in, today that was much better (in the first half at least).
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Just providing information. Nothing sinister intended.

13 games is a third of the way through the season and we have 2 difficult games leading into that point.

The results of those 2 games will have a huge impact on where we stand compared with the same time last season.

I think you're giving our playing staff too much credit.....I'm not sure we have a game to play.
Same ****e.......full of ifs, buts and maybes. Same old story, same tired rhetoric from everyone connected in the post-match analysis.....

Drawing at home to Norwich and Swansea is acceptable if the performances were good and we were unlucky.
Being out footballed, outplayed at home by 2 promoted sides is not acceptable.
If Rafa or Hodgson were in charge there would rightly be anarchy.

Now I love Kenny but Adam hasnt been up to it, Henderson has been made a scapegoat yet he has played 20 minutes in his preferred position against the Mancs and looked brilliant.
Downing has done what he was bought to do, he doesnt go past players he whips in good quality crosses, it isnt his fault that we dont have enough players in the box and when we do get on the end of the crosses Carroll, Kuyt, Henderson etc... miss.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

The quality of Downing's crosses is ****. Plus he doesn't have a clue where to position himself, especially defensively, not once did he manage to be close enough to make a tackle today, just runs around like a headless chicken.

In general, I think we would be much better off using the players we already had in our squad at the end of last season, instead of persisting with Henderson and Downing. They don't offer much.

Carroll needs to get his feet out of his ass and start performing. Was really looking forward to having a real presence in the box, after seeing what he did at Newcastle. Looks like he is overawed, and hasn't performed at all. Maybe send him to the pub the night before games to ease his nerves, seemed to work for him before.

Lucas and Adam. Doesn't work. Lucas has been good this season, but today he was bad. They ran straight through our midfield the entire game. Kenny and Clarke need to sort this out.

4th place? You're having a laugh. We'll be lucky to get into the Europa league next season. Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs are better the better teams. Hopefully City can keep up their form and beat the scum to the title. Let's hope we can find one of our "underdogs" performances against Chelsea in the league cup and progress, our only hope of some success this year IMO, unfortunately.

                              Oops.

I didn't even look at the wording above your table and actually didn't even look at your table

Just glanced at the bottom and wrongfully assumed you are showing the ranking for this year

It seems like this club hasn't learnt from it's mistakes.

We have spent the last 20+ years buying dozens of average squad players instead of genuine quality http://www.transferleague.co.uk/prem...transfers.html. This is one of the reasons we have never won the PL.
When FSG took over John Henry said in an interview that he was amazed at how many players we had bought over the last two decades that weren't what he described as ''top 4 players''. When I saw this interview I was excited, I truly believed that from then on we would only buy either genuine, proven quality players or very young, promising starlets.
But the signings of Carroll, Adam, Downing and Henderson have cost us 78 million pounds and while we may have more ''depth'' the overall quality of the squad has actually DECREASED. Those 4 players have lowered the quality of the team, perhaps mediocrity is contaigous.
Dalglish needs to drop those players and fast, a big decison to be sure but if he persists with these players then 4th is beyond us.
