Net spend is always the bottom line, literally.

Although for sure we've never been able to bring in £100m worth of new players in 8 months.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

We've played 2 of the 3 promoted teams at home this season & have scored a grand total of 1 goal - pathetic & disgraceful imo!
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

Disgraceful is pushing it a bit but yeah its not good enough. Though Swansea is the only home performance thats angered me, Sunderland just looked a first day no rhythm thing that happens to everyone and Norwich was one of those days, Saturday was very poor though.

Slightly off topic but the real depressing thought for me was if Rafa had these current owners then he would have been able to add Silva, Alves, Molouda, Ramsey, Pato all players he was in for but couldn't compete for financially.
Add that to Alonso, Mascherano and the fully fit Gerrard and Torres and it makes me weep.

I know every club has it's sob stories but Ferguson only bought Cantona as a last resort because David ****ing Hirst got injured, he only signed Keane because Blackburn didn't have admin staff that worked on the weekend and they have been the 2 biggest single influences during his 25 years there
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

but the point is we are under performing and we spent the most we ever have in two consecutive windows.

we used to use money as an excuse and talk about net spend to bolster the argument but i don't think we can now. There has been no shortage of money, the money has been spent badly (or so results and aspects of performance to date would suggest).

If we hadn't sold Torres and Babel for ~£60m we wouldn't have signed half of these players.
At the moment it is irrelevant as we are discussing the problems with the team - and a lot of the problems are because of what we have done with £100 million in 2 transfer windows.

                    Eleven league games. Eleven.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

His problem is Kenny continues to play a system where we have hardly anyone in the box so we are negating our wingers greatest strength.

Every other team seem to play with more desire and urgency than us, we appear to be clueless and insipid.
Maxi was our best player from about February last season now he cant get a kick.

Still a massive bonus is thats 2 clean sheets in a row with Carra out injured
It's because he's been out injured that we've had the clean sheets. The defence looks a lot more composed without him

Thought we were woeful defensively on saturday and it was our worst defensive performance of the season apart from at Spurs. If Carra was in the team and the oppo had that many chances he'd be getting hammered.

Wouldnt change it though, these two need time to build a partnership.

They were all at sea at times but you can't really argue with 225 minutes (2 and a half games) since Carra came out of the side and not one goal conceded.

No it couldnt, and you've got some nerve questioning the mentality of people at the club then saying I quit after 13 games.

and you know that Carra will walk straight back into starting XI only because he is Carra.
