    Correct.

    So is Pennant.

    Kuyt is quality.

Gonzalez has looked good in spells but he's been in and out for one reason or another. Needs a run of games.

Aurelio. Good technical footballer, but he's no left back. Still he was on a free.

    Haven't see enough of Paletta.
    I hate Polanski

Gonzalez - Not exactley settling in is he. For me he has been disappointing. He has scored but he doesnt seem to be that amazing on the wing. I rarely see him beat his man. He did put a peach of a cross in for Crouch to score a few games back. I hope he gets better. Maybe a run of more games will improve him.

Pennant - Very disappionting - He does put the crosses in but too often they are ****e. I think he has had a few assists but generally his play has been poor. Again he doesnt seem able to beat his man with pace (which im assured he has) 7 Million! I hope he also gets better and bloody soon!

Bellamy - I like Bellers. He hasnt set the kop on fire but I sense he isnt far away. He looks good playing alongside Both Crouch and Kuyt. He is a whiney little bugger though but we all knew that when he joined. I think he is close to being back and fit but is gonna have a job shifting the partnership of C & K which I think is our best.

Paletta - TBH I havent seen enough of him to comment - I know he scored the other day - I think he has been injured - anyone got any thoughts on him?

Aurelio - Another one that I like. Good squad player that definatley offers options from set pieces as well. He has a great left foot and is great at swinging those balls in. I predict he will score an absolute blinder this season. Though of couse I prefer Riise at left back any day.

Kuyt - What can I say? He is everything that Ciise wasnt. He works hard for the team - tracking back, making runs etc. He looks like he can play with either Crouch or Bellers (and possibly God as well but I cant remember if they have) He has scored 5 goals in 7 starts. I love the way he is constantly clapping Xabi or Stevie when they play a good ball to him. He looks very much a team player and I hope he will prove to be a steal at 9 Million (that figure already looks a bargin and he has only played about 10 for us LOL)

Anyway I live in Sydney so havent seen any of them in the flesh playing so maybe my thoughts are a bit wonky - Happy for anyone to put them right.
Gonzales - too early to say. Was good in Spain so maybe just needs to settle. I'll tell you next year.

Pennant - very poor. Form no different from his form elsewhere so I don't think its due to settling in. A very poor purchase at an inflated price.

Bellamy - it depends what his job is. If he's bought to be a goalscorer he won't be. If he's bought to add pace to the attack and to feed a goalscorer he'll be ok. Certainly never shirks and always pulls his guts out when he plays.

Palletta - far far too early to judge.

Aurelio - really don't like him at all. I don't see much redeeming qualities about him apart from his free kicks. Molby said he's not good enough for LFC and probably never will be, and I'd go with that.

Kuyt - excellent. If he scores lots of goals per season too then he'll be a great signing indeed. Even if he doesn't he'll be a great link up forward. Like him a lot. A real Liverpool player in attitude and play.

but he hasn't been given the time in *our* setup so maybe it's better to make this kind of judgment at the end of the season.
You dont seem to use that theory for Shevchenko, for some reason.

Agree, I've said it once, but I'll say it again, Bellamy wont get anywhere near Djib's 19 goals from last season, I doubt he'll even hit double figures to be honest.

How about we consider Kuyt as Djibs replacement?

Or better still, given that Cisse cost £14m and Kuyt & Bellamy about the same, maybe their combined total should be used in any comparison?

It's pretty obvious to everyone that Kuyt was Morientes' replacement and Bellamy was Cisses' replacement, Syd.

Surely you can see that ?

Morientes was initially seen as the target man, great with his back to goal, the ability to link with the midfield, score goals etc etc, basically Kuyt is everything we hoped Morientes would be.

After Rafa had decided to get rid of Cisse, it was pretty clear he wanted a lively, pacey alternative, capable of stretching the play and working the flanks.

Bellamy's not good enough, never has been and unfortunately (although I hope to be proved otherwise) I doubt he ever will be.

As a goalscorer, clearly Kuyt will be Cisse's replacement and, dare i say, is looking like doing a better job at it than Djibs.

Why is it obvious? Because Bellamy is fast and Cisse was/is? To compare Bellamy with Cisse is folly. Their only similarity is pace. Bellamy has a proper first touch and can pass to his colleagues, and doesn't bemoan his colleagues when it doesn't go his way. If Kuyt, Crouch, and Bellamy score more than Cisse, Crouch, and Nando then Rafa will have done his job. Game for game, our strikers this season are doing better.

...BUT, isn't this thread asking questions based on the season so far?

That Sir is a ****e post and I will tell you why - When was Bellamy ****e? Maybe when he played for Coventry/Newcastle/Celtic/Blackburn???? He was outstanding for all those club and regularly pulled teams apart. As Red Polo said earlier he is not really being played in the position which best suits his play. Rafa is experimenting with his forwards at the moment - when he finds the right balance (for the right opposition) you will see the best of Bellamy. He is an exceptional talent and one Im happy to say is at our club. He will come good

Bellamy has 42 PL goals in 116 starts. Hardly ****e. He however is being overshadowed by Kuyt and Crouch. He needs time and games and he'll get them. I'll reserve my judgement until he has a run of games.

Bellamy's a good player, anyone can see that.

He has, however, had an indifferent start. The main problem is he isnt living upto the expectations that we may have had, but those were built up by his own brilliant season last year, so let's get some perspective here.

He's very talented and whilst he's not Henry, he can and probably will prove to be an excellent signing.

I'll bet you a years subscription to koptalk that he doesn't get into double figures for us this season.......
