Just got back from the game, very enjoyable match and the atmosphere was great in the Kop when we were attacking just very frustrating not bagging the second.

I thought we played very well, Lucas and Agger were fantastic. Lucas is turning into a real star.

Enrique in the second half was brilliant, plays like a winger almost. Kuyt worked tirelessly again and both Johnson and Reina were very good.

City play some nice stuff and Silva is a class act but we all know that anyway. Hart had a great game pulled off some top class saves.

Suarez looked tired today, he also looked isolated at times.

We need to add some pace and guile in the final third and try and look for the killer through ball.

All in all it was a good game, should have won it really if it wasn't for Hart.

Sad day though for poor Gary Speed.

Feels like a defeat as we deserved to win this. I was gutted when the FT whistle went.

I didn't mind City too much before but my hate for them and their cunty fans grew as the game went on.

Really? I thought Downing was poor. He was brought in for his crossing, but his crossing has been pretty woeful if you ask me. He never seems to make a clean contact on the ball. And he was on the end of 2-3 chances where he missed the target by an absolute mile!

I thought Henderson had a decent game, and he certainly helped us control midfield, but it would be nice to see him assert himself on the game a little more. He reminds me a little bit of what Lucas was like when he first signed.

Henderson was annoymous in first half but better in the second, personally i think if Maxi/Bellamy had of started, we would have won.

Henderson didn't have a particularly good game imo and I think it was unfair to drop Maxi in his favor. I think he should be brought in slowly as I don't see him being ready just yet to start.

He did lots of running but very little productivity.

His crossing was poor and his shot selection today wasn't the greatest.

He is a young lad and needs time to develop but his defending needs improve quite a bit and he needs to work on his headers too.

One of the things imo he's missing in his repertoire is ability to dribble effectively and consequently takes on defenders but he is talented footballer that has some pace and will need time and patience to full grow into a CM role.

[Muddled]

Both games against the Manchester clubs have felt like defeats.

Small margins are stopping us being up there with Spurs, if not, Man Utd. However, there are lots of positives though; our defensive line is becoming resolute, Lucas has carried on his form from last season in to this one and he's now building an understanding with Adam.

I think Downing needs to get his first goal for us, just to take the pressure off him - he seems to be snatching at a lot of his shots. Hoping Bellamy and Maxi are back for Fulham and Gerrard gets some game time against Chelsea.

lucas was superb, anyone else get annoyed by charlie 'one foot' adam he slows play down or makes the wrong pass too many times by the fact he has 1 foot, not good enough for a centre mid at his level, surely he must be working on it
