he did ok in the rough and tumble, but he had a terrible day in the final 3rd. miscontrolled balls, passes and crosses to nobody.

I didn't think he was bad, but I agree with you guys that Henderson plays his best football off of the bench. We did need an extra man in midfield today, so for me his selection was justified, because if Gerrard was fit Henderson would probably have been on the bench. In the majority of games, I really like the idea of him coming on with 20, 30 minutes to go. He's shown he's able to read and adapt to the situation of the game to influence it positively in the Chelsea and Man Utd cameos.

Adam was good, he's getting better and if he keeps it up he will be key for us. Lucas played a blinder and deserved MOTM. Amazing the amount of headers he wins for his size, also muscled out Yaya Toure on many occasions. I have to say Lucas is just outstanding. We really deserved the 3 points. If it wasn't for Joe Hart we would have had it.

I also agree Henderson shouldn't have started, he should be used as a sub for now. Breed him into the side instead of throwing him into the deep end. Lets face it, we weren't full strength (Gerrard, Bellamy, Rodriguez) and we were better than Man City. That is very encouraging for the future. We just need the same commitment against the smaller teams. The age old problem.

I'd agree with that, I just don't want to see Carragher come back in. I hope Skrtel and Agger (as long as there are no injurys) get a long run in the side because they deserve it.

ballatelly has gained a reputation , so the refs are going to treat him a bit different, same happens with our suarez.

Thought both Downing & Hendo were much improved in the 2nd half & thus dint deserve criticism overall.

I think Gerrard will play with Suarez when he is fit. That combination can be lethal for us, we might not need a new striker.

It's worth mentioning Skrtel had a great game. He is showing a lot of consistency and deserves his place over Carragher.

we're probably 2 points ahead of where i thought we'd be after the last 2 matches, but it was gutting not to win after the amount of possession and chances we had in the 2nd half.

roll on, i have confidence that henderson will eventually stop ruining forward moves and kuyt will start banging them in again.

could be next season for henderson to grow into the side though. i can wait for him. would be delighted if he found his feet sooner.

Your not allowed to sit on the bench when you've been sent off anyway, I think he was just disappointed with him only being on the pitch for 5 minutes before getting himself sent off and wanted to get that across to him
