I hope he doesn't but I can see Kenny giving him another chance.

We look much more dangerous and there is miles better connection between Bellamy, Maxi and Suarez than between Downing and last 2.

We need to win if we want to stay in the hunt for top 4 and personally Bellamy playing is giving us much better chances of accomplishing that.

I fully expect to see that line up but I think Hendo and Adam will exchange places in that formation.

He doesn’t literally mean it but he thinks it. A lot of Clarkson’s {:smiley for ******:} comments are politically motivated. That much really is ****ing obvious.

Back to the Fulham game: 'Can't see Bellamy (Bellars, Bello, Craigy, Craigo) or Maxi starting - unfortunately. 'Hope I'm wrong.

JC: No one will worry about Jay

Jamie Carragher claims he always believed Jay Spearing would make the grade at Anfield - and is backing the midfielder to shine in the absence of Lucas Leiva.

Spearing will be hoping to add significantly to his tally of 32 Liverpool appearances over the coming months while Lucas sits on the sidelines with a knee injury.

And Carragher has no doubts about the 23-year-old's ability to fill the void.

"It's up to someone else now to come in and try to do as good a job as Lucas was doing," Carragher said.

"That won't be easy as he's been as good as anyone in that position in the Premier League this season.

"But Jay was outstanding towards the end of last season. He was superb in our win at Fulham.

"In the Carling Cup this season he's also done really well. He has started away to Stoke and Chelsea - that's two of the toughest away games you can get in the Premier League. He's performed well and we got good victories in both of those games.

"No-one will be worried one bit about putting Jay in there. He's proven before that he's more than good enough at this level and I'm sure he will prove it again.

"I've always thought Jay could do it for Liverpool. He was part of the side that won back-to-back FA Youth Cups. From then on I expected him to be in and around the squad.

"I don't think a lot of improvement was needed because he's always had the tools. I just think the confidence and belief Kenny has shown in him has allowed him to go out there and perform at the top level."

At 5ft 6ins, Spearing is one of the shortest players in the top flight but Carragher insists his talent and desire more than compensate for a lack of height.

"That's not a problem, look at Xavi, Iniesta and David Silva," he said.

"Now, I'm not saying Jay is as good as them, I don't think he will mind me saying that, but if you're good enough, your size doesn't matter.

"Jay's a fantastic passer of the ball and puts his foot in. That's exactly what you need in that position."

                            Dalglish hails Maxi's attitude

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish admits Maxi Rodriguez is making it difficult for him to leave the Argentine out of his starting XI.

Maxi has started just one Premier League match this season, in which he scored the opener in the 2-1 win at Chelsea.

However, Maxi found himself back on the bench for the game straight after the victory over Chelsea with Stewart Downing taking his place against Manchester City.

Maxi enhanced his claims for a regular role in the side with another goal in last week's Carling Cup success over Chelsea and Dalglish could be ready to unleash the former Atletico Madrid man on Fulham on Monday night, having scored a hat-trick against the Cottagers in last season's corresponding fixture.

"I'm tempted to play Maxi in every game," Dalglish said.

"He has a fantastic recent goalscoring record. He is an intelligent footballer and he must have been some player five years ago when he was in his prime.

"He might be getting a bit towards my age now but he is still a clever player. He knows how to play and he knows how to finish.

"Maxi is someone that you admire. A lot of people can look at him and also learn from him. Maxi and Bellers (Craig Bellamy), along with Carra, are the elder statesmen. The way they look after themselves, the way they train and the way they prepare themselves, they are a great example to everybody.

"Maxi's just an intelligent footballer who understands the game on and off the pitch. The same as everybody should do. The squad is more important than the individual.

"If they are given an opportunity, there's not one of them that won't go on to the pitch and do their best. That's all we can ask for. Maxi epitomises that. He has made a contribution."

Adam ready to forge new midfield partnership for Reds

Liverpool's Charlie Adam will run out in the Barclays Premier League at Fulham tonight without his central midfield partner Lucas Leiva for only the second time this season.

The pair have started 12 of the Reds' previous 13 league matches alongside each other - the Brazilian missed one game through suspension - and had developed a close understanding and good working relationship.

But with the 24-year-old having been ruled out for the rest of the season with cruciate knee ligament damage Adam is going to have to forge a new partnership.

It may take some getting used to, and it may involve the Scotland international adjusting his role to compensate for the loss of a player who has become a key cog in their system.

"We have been playing well together but he is a top Brazilian international and has been fantastic for us," Adam told liverpoolfc.tv.

"He has had a lot plaudits for the whole season - Luis Suarez has stolen the limelight because he has been terrific but Lucas deservedly got man of the match against Manchester City.

"We are all really sad for him because he's been one of the best players for us again this season.

"He's a terrific player and it's a big blow for us. He is going to be a loss.

"He's gutted but we are all behind him and giving him support. I texted him the other day and told him he will come back stronger mentally and physically a better player.

"It will be a hard time for him but we will all get him through it, all the players and staff, and he will be back for us next season."

Liverpool are looking to maintain an unbeaten run which now stretches to 11 matches at Fulham.

Manager Kenny Dalglish is likely to revert to the line-up - minus Lucas - which did so well in pushing league leaders Manchester City on their way to a point at Anfield the previous weekend.

That means many of the players who secured the club's place in the Carling Cup semi-finals with the win at Chelsea in midweek will lose out.

Dalglish admits it cannot be helped but stressed the players know success will only come from them being united in their quest to improve.

"Last Tuesday we made seven changes and there is not one of them who let themselves or us down," said the Scot.

"That's the thing that is going to keep us going - the momentum and strong dressing room we have.

"If they're enjoying coming to work, they're going to work and train harder, and produce good performances. They've done that.

"We would much rather have Lucas fit than injured but we have a strong squad and we have people in the squad who can step in.

"We have to accommodate injuries and suspensions and unfortunately for us Lucas is, at this moment in time, injured and we have to be able to handle it."
