I am giving up all forms of Football Punditry and Opinion

Personally I seem to be on a different page to a lot of the people I read online, and football pundits are just so ****ing mind numbingly predictable. Even the good ones like James Richardson are parodies of themselves.

I decided for the rest of the season, I am just going to enjoy my football and take each game as I find it. Year after all the sea of opinion most of it on the negative side just wears you down. So **** it, I have become quite good at giving things up, I am going to not read any football articles, I am unsubing all of my football podcasts and except for chatting about this issue I'll leave footy chatter to you lot and report back at the end of the season to tell you how mind numbingly boring it was or how its was like a huge wieght of **** lifted off your shoulders.

Does anyone else every get fed up with Jamie ****ing Redknapp, Barry GlenAsshatDenning, not to mention the endless sea of toddle on the internet. I am on about 5 Facebook LFC sites, 6 twitter accounts, I have stated coming back on here and 5 weekly podcasts, Its just information overload, it tends to colour your perceptions of the game.

Mostly I can stand this Its a Dalglish Utopia this week its A Crisis the next. I have come to terms with the fact this season will be tough, we should make it into the CL, we may not, but for here on in, i am just going to enjoy watching the actually football to **** with all the pre scripted drama and bollix that goes on outside the game for 90 mins on a park

I'll be still talking ****e on other forums, just no more footie drivel

Anybody else feel this way ?

I find it interesting to hear other people's opinions however I feel you have to take into account their biases or agendas which most football fans, pundits or journalists have, rather than taking it at face value.

I often find myself disagreeing with pundits and journalists. I think part of the fun of football is having these kinds of discussions with other people, be that friends, people at work, people on the internet or the random person you happen to be standing next to watching the game.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I dip in and out of post-match threads, preferably before they descend into the usual ill-tempered parodies of analysis.

I read the odd match report and watch MOTD when we win. I hardly ever watch the post-game analysis unless there's an incident I want to watch again and I try to avoid the pre-game build-up altogether.

Football is not that important to me these days.

Mind you, last night's game irked me.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I had 2 years away from most things concerning punditry. Only really watching the games, and coming to my own conclusions. It was great. Found myself being less depressed about our performances.

Its come to a sad state of affairs when Gary Neville is possibly the fairest and best pundit on TV.
"With Ron Yeats in defence, we could play Arthur Askey in goal."

Getting rid of Sky definitely allowed me to get back in touch with my sanity.

Personally I just had an epiphany, I thought to myself, its just all so ****ing pointless. What ? I am telling people my opinions on a football team ? why ? do I think I am going to influence there opinions ? am I wanting some form of validation ? Yes Nicey your opinion is brilliant, Or, you know what I have read your post and now I have totally changed my mind.

None of that ever happens, its like arguing with people online the only winners are the spectators. And then there is the so called pundits, my god I loath these asshats. They all seem to have a healthy destain for the very sport they are supposed to be some what knowledgeable about.

I listened to Football Weekly recently and one of the pundits was getting lauded for watching 10 hours of football over the weekend, like he had done the football viewing equivalent of swimming the ****ing English channel, I watch that much every weekend as standard.

Pundits who don't go the games, don't watch the games but have seen match of the ****ing day and are given there 2 cents with authority. The worse recently was Alan Brazil after England Beat Spain, Spain FFS possibly one of the best International teams in the History of the sport, and you swear England got hammered 5 - 0 judging by Brazils tone and ramblings. England did not play nice enough football for Alan and he wanted you to know about it.

The phone ins, my god what a shower of turncoat assbags, I'm being going to watch the Arsenal play for 60 years and thats the worse team I have seen, really ? really ? in 60 years .. sweert Jesus man some of the so called great teams of the 60s would get murdered Swansea. Wenger must go, etc etc etc and now nowhere to be seen. I still remember the witch hunt the media had for Rafa from almost day 1 and how they influenced are own fan base eventually.

I just thought the amount of precious time, I am giving this opinion lark each week, when I could be reading a good book, taking my daughter out for a Ice Cream or Killing Zombies on the Xbox is just ridiculous.

Apologies for the typos my writing skills have gone to absolute pot, a heady mix of ADD and Dyslexia

Doug Stanhope really sums up my feelings
