I really can't see Kenny and Commoli not looking for a prolific finisher in January. It's going on too long now to say it's just bad luck and we'll paste someone soon.

A win is a win and I'm well happy but on another day against a team with some attacking intent we'd have been punished.

18 goals in 15 league games is poor by any top clubs standards.

Agree with that but what top striker is available in January ? David Villa has been linked with us, I know that's a long shot but he has been spending a lot of time on Barcas bench, would love him here......

We got Suarez in January, so it's not impossible to buy genuine quality in January.

If you pay attention to things that I post you would see that I said they played well offensively and imo not so much defensively especially in the last 20 minutes.

There were big holes left right in between 2 of them and our back 4 that any other decent team would have explored much better.

You can sugar coated any way you want to but Hendo doesn't know how to press properly and stay on the player (did play some really good defensive headers, which I haven't seen much from him before) as he is constantly trying to play zone defence and that is causing issues as he is backing off when he should be coming closer to stop the pass etc.

In terms of Lucas, I made no reference to him as it was you who brought him in this discussion but now when you did let me say it doesn't require a genius to realize that not having him around is a big blow.

Our fluency on the ball is really good, even all four of our defenders are comfortable and can move it quickly and accurately, but the defensive side of midfield is problematic. It's important for the central midfielders to actually impede the progress of opponents by getting tackles in, not merely run with the man in possession. We are looking lightweight in this facet of the game and it allows opposing teams to build up a head of steam.
