Well from an optimists view point, at least the kids might get a look in?
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Bellamy was never going to be more than a short term stop gap, I mean the guy has played for 10 clubs in the space of 14 years, that speaks volumes I think about his personality. Shame to lose him but 80k a week for a 33 year old who can't start 2 games in a row is insane IMO no matter how talented he is.

although isn't that about the same as Downing and he can't even play once a week.

If that is true then it's mental. Will we honestly find a better player who will cost us less?

What is going on at the moment - quality is being gutted from the squad with no sign of replacements coming in. I know the window is still open, but we're going to have to go some to start the season with a squad that is even close to being as strong as last year.

80 grand a week player with known injury problems leaves shocker ... I find the lack if intellect amongst the fans more depressing than the so called gutting of the club.

For years people screamed Kuyt ... hes just not good enough .. as soon as he leaves he is remembered like some fabled Nordic God of war
Maxi ... looked upon as a luxury... again promoted to Mesi like status
Bellamy sure a great player ... but lets not forget he did not exactly set the world on fire when he was with us first time around, sure he had a good season last year, but I think the fact that everyone else was having such a mare made his star shine that much brighter ... if we are replacing players like Maxi and Bellers with young players like Allen and Borini then you wont hear any complaints from me ....

It's almost worth signing them just to guarantee this

I think Bellamy was on £80k per week at Man City, before taking a wage-cut to rejoin us if I remember correctly. I know it's as much hear'say as the original post, but I reckon he could be nearer £60k per week before people start getting their knickers in a proper twist.

But Bellamy accepted a deal lower than his previous £80,000-a-week wages at the Etihad Stadium to seal a return to his boyhood club on the close of the transfer window, eight days ago.

Dalglish also praised the 32-year-old front man's attitude after he made 'sacrifices' in order to to rejoin the ranks at Anfield following a four-year absence.

"He's really enthusiastic to be back and made a lot of sacrifices to come back here, financial and otherwise, because of what the club means to him," said the Kop boss.

But then you could find a variety of articles saying he was on either £80K, £90k or £95K per week, so who really knows.

To be fair I have never been one saying Kuyt should go, big mistake in my opinion.

Maxi scored goals whenever he played...obvious one that.

Bellamy had a cracking year for us and is in great form as displayed at the Olympics.

I think singling me out as part of your noble quest to jump on anyone who posts anything you see as vaguely negative, is more than a little harsh... Especially as your quite capable of doing it when it suits you.

Thanks for the pointless "lack of intellect" insult though.

I thought he was on much less too.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the club were leaking a few exaggerated salaries during this cull to soften the blow. F*ck, we can’t even just talk about transfer fees anymore, we have to look at the whole package.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

FFS BR better have some major surprises in store or this season will be a disaster, does not matter how good the manager is, if you don't have the players, you don't have ****.

We've lost goalscorers too in Maxi, Bellamy and Kuyt. I know Kuyt didn't score too many last season, but he's scored plenty of important goals previously.

It's a bit of a worry. We need to get some forwards in asap.

We had a paper thin squad last year, and now its even thinner. If this was June I wouldn't be too concerned, but theres only two weeks to go.

I think its pretty obvious whats going on at the club.

I know what your saying, but between those 3 players they only scored 20 goals combined last season.

                                True mate.

But how often did Bellamy and Maxi play? And how many assists did they get? I'm sure if you broke it down in goals and assists to games / minutes then the ratio would be pretty good.

Kuyt's a strange one. He looked shot at times but he was playing wide right in a 4-4-2 and he's always got a goal in him - he'd have scored more under Rodgers this season than under Kenny last season.
