    -----------Lucas/New DM-------Gerrard/Adam-------
    --Bellamy/Maxi/Kuyt---Suarez/Gerrard-----Downing/Suarez--
    -----------------------New #9/Carroll--------------------------

It's been rare Gerrard & Suarez have played in the same team & when they have, Kenny has played Stevie in a deeper role. I agree in the past he was better further up the field, but I'm not sure if he has the legs to cover that position as well nowadays & played a well disciplined role vs Scum. Can also have the 2 wide players switching if Suarez is 1 of them & Stevie is behind the striker, so as to keep some width if Suarez is playing somewhat a free role from nominally out wide.

I'd have the whole front 5 (not the DM so much) play further up than the 4231 we had under Rafa, so as the striker doesnt get as isolated as Torres sometimes did.
    3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I like this new steadfast liverpool fc.
Wonder what Roy's version of support would have been like ?

There are a number of things that we need to get right, everything seems to be going against us this season .
That bit right there is more frustrating than anything else this season.
Kuyt and Adam have been consistant scorers from penalties, not so sure on Suarez's record previously.

We've gone from being over relient on Gerrard to now having too many players getting involved and making the wrong decisions (for example) Bellamy should never, in a million years have taken the last free kick, it was made for Charlie Adam from the right side of the box, and as ****e as he was last night I would have been delighted if he had pulled rank on Bellamy, showed some bollocks and self belief, backed himself and had a shot at goal, instead he stood back and did nothing.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Not been impressed by Adams set pieces, and that was one of his major plus points at Blackpool

He brushed Suarez aside to take the penalty, maybe the confidence went after the missed peno.

And to be fair he hit the penalty quite well. It was a great save. First bad game in a while by Adam, he should expect others to raise theresifhes having a rare bad one.

for me we are suffering from the problems that have been apparant for much of the season.

now we are a work in progress (aren't all teams work in progress) but at some point this group with either prove to be good enough or not. Also as the squad has been reshaped hopefully we will not need to add loads of players so our budget can be spent on players that make a difference rather than just adding depth (obviously you increase the depth when you get the players who make a difference as long as you dont sell players)

so lets see what jan holds and whether the problems are addressed

also DC's players at other clubs have tended to take a season or so before you see the best of them maybe true here?

With respect i disagree, i thought he was just there, no more no less and IMO that's not good enough

Aye, when the commentator said 'Here's Adam lining up the freekick. He's a set piece specialist', I thought: "Well, haven't really seen any of that until now!" His corners and especially set-pieces have been very weak, in my humblest of.

Henderson put a shift in imo

He at least showed himself as well - others hid imo

For me Henderson was the only midfielder who should be able to look himself in the mirror after that, the rest were sub-standard (and thats being kind)

                          Agree about Adam's set pieces.

I like Hendo, but I think he's a player for 2 seasons' time & should be a bench option.

That's why I think people are being very harsh on him. IIRC when he has started a couple of games back to back he's usually played better, he's just never started more than 2 league games back to back. Coming on for 5 mins here or 10mins there isn't going to help him find his form.

It was hit quite well in terms of pace, but it was poorly placed, nowhere near the corner and if the keeper went the right way (as he did) it was a fair routine save as far as penalty saves go.

We tend to buy alot of set-piece specialists but when they come to us they seem to lose their ability in this regard. The only player I can remember being consistently good at set pieces for us in the last 15 years or so is Gary Mac.
