Also with our stance on the Suarez case giving the FA the finger i don't expect us to get favorable decisions from the official's for the rest of the season.

People may think I'm crazy for saying this but we aren't a poor side, the problem is our finishing which is woeful. Were we able to finish chances we could have had up to 20 points more than we currently have, at the moment we are 4 points behind Spurs in 3rd place. We need put the team on an intense shooting training programme! The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We can still turn this around though, just 3 points off 4th and thats where we need to be aiming for. Just a pity that Suarez will be banned when we need him. Saying that, sometimes a team plays as more of a team when the likes of Suarez and Gerrard are not on the pitch. There can often be over reliance on one player, you see players continuous looking to feed them when its not necessarily the best ball.

I'd like to know stats wisehow many clear cut chances we have in comparison to the other top 6.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostPeople may think I'm crazy for saying this but we aren't a poor side, the problem is our finishing which is woeful. I don't think we make enough clear cut chances, how many tap in opportunities do we see, or 1-to-1's with the keeper or a move that tears the opposition to bits that leaves someone with a clear shot on goal, not many imo.We come not to play.

We need A world class Winger, Striker and Defensive midfielder, to make us into title challengers/CL qualifiers.
If we did that we would have squad that would be up there with pretty much everyone elses, bar Citeh of course. But we dont have the money to throw at players like them. The times they are a changin'.

I'm going over to the game on Friday. Hoping to see a few goals and an easy win at home to Newcastle and all that. Now all that is in my head is a ****ing 0-0, frustrating home draw.
I usually like to be optimistic but... ... ... ...Its really hard. To have a chance to go within a point of the Chavs and all.

I'm so excited. And I just cant hide it. I'm about to loose control and I think I like it.

Totally agree, We play a lot of pointless football which is very ineffective. If people think buying a striker will solve our problems, they will be disappointed. We need to raise the quality of our squad, everyone saw the difference when Gerrard came on, he plays at a different level to Adam, Henderson, Downing, Carroll, Bellamy, Maxi etc. We are where we are because thats what our squad dictates.Originally posted by The Erectile Banana View PostI agree. People are saying we're creating a lot of chances but missing them. To be honest I don't think we're creating enough and that our midfield is one paced, plodding and predictable.
The difference in tempo when Gerrard came on was there for all to see and to be honest I think it's a big problem.
Yes, Suarez misses a lot of chances, but he creates a high percentage of them for himself.
Carroll, well, let's not go there, but we can see he did go close twice today when he got good deliveries.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

If he doesn't play him (and Downing), it's like admitting he got it so badly wrong.Originally posted by ElRabiosa View PostI still have no idea why Kenny keeps playing Carroll, we need to buy a striker early in the Jan window.
One thing i liked about Rafa (especially when he wasn't tied up financially) is that if thought a player wasn't doing it/fitting in he wouldn't be afraid of getting rid at the first opportunity. We come not to play.

That was Carroll's first start in three games? And without checking the teams, I could hazard a guess that he might have started one in the previous three before that too.
He doesn't "keep" playing him and to liken the situation to Rafa getting shot of players, Carroll has been here 11 months and been injured for nearly half that period.
