Thought our play was pretty good overall. Just so frustrating, another average keeper looks world class against us. Unbelievable. I've never seen a team be so unlucky in my time of watching football as we have been this season. To be fair we deserved the win and were totally on top. I just don't know when this bad luck is going to end. Gerrard looked good and added a spark, Carroll even made himself a nuisance in the box. A lot of people are going to say he had a ****e game but I thought he was very unlucky today.

Is it just me, or do others also find it incomprehensible to imagine Downing assisting a Carroll goal? I try to think of it, because that was supposedly what he was bought to do, but each time it comes up blank. Too many unfavourable variables in that equation.

Oh and I mentioned this in the match thread too, Kenny needs to have a word with big AC and get him to stop dropping deep, he has neither the Pace or Movement to get to crosses being delivered into the box when he is behind play.

Need to get him in the box and keep him there, that's the only way he's going to be effective.
